Another Shakespeare class read- learning about the direct ties between this book and the Protestant Reformation really helped me to see Hamlet in a different light. It's a fascinating and sometimes hard to follow character study of a man losing faith in himself.

I know this is supposed to be one of the best stories every written but honestly, I found it difficult to get into. Can't say I really liked any of the characters, although the plot was very interesting. Ultimately, plays are not meant to be read they are meant to be performed and watched, and Shakespeare's plays are no different. I think if I saw this play performed, I'd probably enjoy it a lot more.

Kicking my feet and giggling. No intelligent thoughts at this time but I am a Shakespeare stan.

All the stars to the play!

One of my all-time favorites from Shakespeare and an insanely entertaining and insightful play. Hamlet has some of the best witty remarks, hardest disses and just all-around masterful wordplays. To annotate the best parts would leave the whole book fully underlined.

I recommend this to everyone. Especially to listen to or to actually watch the play (YouTube has some good ones, too!)
I listened this fully dramatized and it is such a treat!
(I don’t even mind that I needed to read this for school)

I was never really into Shakespeare plays because they were hard to understand. But I got to read this book in English senior year and had a lovely teacher who explained it to me. After he explained the plot and what was going on, I realized that Hamlet is an amazing play.
One of the most relatable character in this play is Ophelia. I never understood her significance but when I read this play and my teacher explained how her fate was sealed and why she is so important, I just couldn't help but find a new found love for this book.

Read in my AP lit class. I'm edgy, and this play was lowkey too edgy for me, but the play was well written! I hated how fast the ending was though.
