This genre/trope/kink is my guilty pleasure. This isn’t the best one I’ve read, but it was good enough to keep me intrigued. The dynamic was a bit toxic at times, but I still enjoyed reading.

I’m torn about this book.

So I’m a bit mixed for this book. There were parts I loved - like the relationship with Josh, the family dynamic etc but then there were elements that I didn’t like - lack of a safe word, fully throwing Sophie into an age play role without fully explaining things and then punishing her for things when she struggled, learning about her abuse then doing things which were similar to that abuse as a punishment. It just seemed a bit too much dubious consent for the kind of relationship.

Loved this story, wish it was longer. Had a few errors but they did not detract from the reading experience. Maybe there will be a sequel?

As I was reading, I was a little disappointed by the lack of relationship between Liz and Sophia after the beginning of the novel hyped the development of their relationship. This was overall an enjoyable book though.

The world of erotica is vast, and there are sooo many different kinks out there that I'll probably never be able to read them all! I was exploring Goodreads, as you do, and came across this book. I've never read an age play erotica before, so I thought 'Why the hell not?' and picked this up.

I felt this had a few problems, but, on the whole, I enjoyed it. It was certainly eye opening!

I really liked the character of Sophie to start with. She was innocent and in a bad place, and just really needed taking care of. And then... she kind of dissolved into a brat, and it really grated. She was a brat just to be contrary, most of the time.
Stealing Josh's car was different, though. I liked that.
I understand she was playing a role sometimes, but the brattiness was just a bit too over the top for me.

I didn't really like Liz, either. She was kind of pivotal into bringing Sophie into the relationship, but after that, she just kind of disappeared for the most part. Charlie and Josh got a lot more page time and sexy time with Sophie. I did appreciate that there was a little bit of F/f in there - I'd have just liked a bit more!

I did like the characters of Charlie and Josh - especially because they were so different from each other. They brought out different things in Sophie, and they wanted and needed different things from her in return. Also, both of them grew a lot from the beginning of the book, and I really enjoyed seeing their progress.

The ending of the book was great. It could have easily been terribly sickly sweet, but it really wasn't. Actually, the end of the book actually made me like Sophie again, haha.

My other big issue with the book was that, at times, I felt that the three older members of the relationship (not Josh, so much) were really pushing their lifestyle on Sophie. There were no safe words or anything like that, and sometimes I felt like things were pushed just a little too far for my comfort zone. Sophie is actually quite a damaged character, and I'd have liked to see that addressed a bit more. I mean, it is addressed a little, but I'd have liked to see more discussion.

I felt that, overall, the dialogue was really well done and felt authentic. I'm not sure why... just most of it felt like how people would actually speak, rather than what an author imagines people speak like. There were a couple of places where that slipped, but overall dialogue was great.

I also appreciated how Sophie losing her virginity was handled. That felt authentic too, and I also liked that it was a looong while before it happened.

Overall, if you're the tiniest bit interested in age play, this is an interesting novel to read. Sophie is completely virginal and vanilla, so we the readers learn about the lifestyle along with her. I probably will check out some more of Korey Mae Johnson's books on the back of this one. :)

I absolutely loved this story! It was so incredibly hot, sexy, dirty, and romantic all tied up together. Some of the plot points felt similar to other stories in this theme, but the relationships and the characters drag this story from good to fabulous. The way the characters and their relationships developed was just deliciously spicy. If I were solely basing my review on plot, characters, and sexiness, this would easily be five stars. But the story was written in 3rd person and it wasn't done in a super elegant way, so I sometimes found myself being yanked from the story to try and understand what was happening.
