2.5--Reading for me is a form of escapism--I work full time, I have four kids, blah blah blah--so I generally don't gravitate towards books with kids in them. They are hardly ever well written, and I'm trying to escape from kids and not be surrounded by cutesy bullshit.

After the mysterious death of Mafia Underboss Cassio's wife, he is left with two small children and encouraged to take a new wife to raise them. Cassio Moretti is 32 and despises the idea of wedding 18 year old Guila, but he has no other choice. With a son who has refused to speak after is mothers death and a daughter who isn't more than a few months old Cassio doesn't have time to run Philadelphia and raise two children on his own. Cassio has no intentions of falling for his new wife. To him, she is simply there to raise his children.



Guila is eighteen and has no idea how to raise children. Despite being given to the cruelest man in Philadelphia by her father, she wants to help the children as best as she can while also staying on Cassio's good side. Guila comes into the Moretti home and tries to piece it back together. There are secrets kept by Cassio and his men, but despite the uneasiness, she tires to make the best of her new life. The closer she gets to Cassio, the more he seems to close himself off to her.



I am a sucker for Mafia romances and Single Dad romances. I enjoyed this book so much during my first and second read of it. I have read [a:Cora Reilly|7024504|Cora Reilly|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1575442992p2/7024504.jpg] before and I also seem to love her work. The book was no acceptation. I loved this took place in the same world as a few of her other books. Recognizing side characters from other books always make me happy.

I really liked the main characters, i felt like Giulia really proved what she was capable of. She really brought the family back together, i don’t think they would be close anymore if it wasn’t for her.
I also really liked Cassio though. It was clear he really cared about Giulia and also the kids.

It wasn’t too long which was good and i really liked the ending.

This is a single dad mafia romance, it's my first by the author and I enjoyed it, Giulia and Cassio's story has all the checks for mafia romance, but found a bit more that I really like it and made it more real, their relationship. Giulia is a good character, compassionate and sweet, while Casio was the ever mysterious and intense character I love to read. There is an age gap but I like that in a well-written book and this one is. Looking forward to reading more of the author.

This was so good for some reason. Like I legit expected an old grumpy dude who would disrespect his new wife, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved how Cassio was not a mean broody dudes like the ones we see in mafia romances. He was grumpy at the start but he wasn’t evil and didn’t treat Guilia as trash. I love how Guilia stood up for herself and didn’t just shy away from Cassio. I love her more than anything. I loved how Daniele and Cassio built their relationship again. The best relaxing romances.

Jaka jest Wasza ulubiona mafijna seria?
Cory Reilly chyba nie trzeba nikomu przedstawiać. Autorka mafijnych (chociaż nie tylko) książek zyskała sporą rzeszę fanów. „Słodka pokusa” jest jednotomową historią z uniwersum „Złączonych”.
Jak przystało na mafijną tematykę, mamy młodziutką dziewczynę — tutaj jest nią Giulia i doświadczonego, sporo starszego od niej mafiosę — tę rolę obsadza Cassio.
Giulia nie tylko musi wejść w rolę żony, ale również i matki. Zaledwie osiemnastoletnia dziewczyna trafia do domu, w którym napięcie widoczne jest nawet w ciemnościach. Cassio jest wdowcem z dwójką małych dzieci i niesfornym psiakiem a Giulia nie trzymała nigdy dziecka na rękach. Można powiedzieć, że ten związek nie zapowiada się zbyt obiecująco, jednak nasza bohaterka zrobi wszystko, by mieć szczęśliwą i prawdziwą rodzinę, o jakiej zawsze marzyła.
Czy ta historia jest przerysowana? Oczywiście, że tak. Jednak mimo to, bardzo sprawnie i przyjemnie się ją czyta. Giulia jest bohaterką, którą polubiłam, bo mimo młodego wieku, wiedziała, czego wymaga od niej społeczeństwo. Jednak nie robiła tego na pokaz. Nie, ona robiła to dla dwójki dzieci, które zostały bez matki. Robiła to też dla mężczyzny, który z nieznanych jej przyczyn wolał trzymać ją na dystans. Można powiedzieć, że „Słodka pokusa” jest walką Giulii o namiastkę normalności w mafijnym świecie.
Cassio z kolei miał pełne prawo do tych wszystkich wątpliwości, które kotłowały się w jego głowie. I chociaż dobrze o tym wiedziałam, to czasami i tak miałam ochotę dać mu w twarz.
Rzeczą, do której muszę się przyczepić, bo nie byłabym sobą, jest to, że kompletnie nie rozumiem, dlaczego nikt na poważnie nie zainteresował się Daniele. Chłopiec stracił matkę, przestał mówić, można wręcz powiedzieć, że cofnął się w rozwoju, a nie dostał żadnej pomocy specjalisty. Bo opiekowała się nim niania, a doglądał go Cassio, który był chyba ostatnią osobą, którą Daniele by chciał widzieć. I wtedy pojawia się Giulia, która ma zastąpić mu matkę (a przypominam, że ona sama wciąż jest nastolatką).
Jednak mimo tego zgrzytu, bardzo lubię tę historię i wiem, że pewnie do niej jeszcze kiedyś wrócę.
