I was looking forward to this book and I may have overhyped it for myself. It takes talent to write a book like this and tie up all the loose ends created through the story. However, there simply didn’t need to be THAT MANY twists and turns. Certainly can say this book was unpredictable. The ending made me happy though, so it’s worth it

I was excited to continue the rest of this series after book one, but after this - i’m going to need a little break before starting the sacrifice 🥲 it took about 200 pages of smut before it started picking up on the plot. don’t get me wrong, i love me a good smutty book but when theres 600 pages you be surprise of whats considered too much 😅 the sinner was definitely darker then the ritual so make sure to heed trigger warnings before diving in. there were lots of plot twists and the story kept taking a turn; i felt like sin & ellie was never going to get a break! ellie’s story was truly a sad one.. my heart ached for her while reading. once the book picked up for me, i was deeply invest & wanted more after every chapter. there were some questionable things that Sin did with/to ellie but it seems like this is the pattern of how the Lords are in this series.. safe to say though, ryat is still my favorite! i was also very intrigued with the spade brothers so i can’t wait for carnage’s release.

Good lord, you better hang on cause it is a wild fucking ride. I can’t believe I finished it, but I did.

Spoiler If you like “DARK just for the sake of it being dark I bow down to you. I was having a hard fucking time after the plot twist when we found out that Elli’s dad was a fucking twin!! Good gracious 🫢 I should have been expecting it since it was so off the walls crazy!! I was intrigued by Elli but it started getting crazy after all of the drugs she had… that girl would be barely functioning… she’s not that big. Anyway, Sin & Elli were alright… I just wish there was more things in it that made sense.  Spice was fine 👍🏾

Spice was definitely there, and if you are into forced intimacy this is probably the book for you!

okay so first of all i definitely loved the mentions of blakely and ryat in this especially in the ending!! we need a book for the next generation 🥺 however, i do have to say i didn’t like it too much in the beginning and there was lots of drowning and other things lol where the ritual wasn’t “as bad”. though you can see a similar pattern to the ritual for sure with  the certain way the plot went which i definitely don’t mind as it makes it seem more familiar. but let me get started on poor elli this gurl deserves everything in the world and nothing but pure happiness. the amount of things she went through?? she’s literally so strong. also sin you little bastard. i love you but why did use her trauma for please??? she needs to be able to differentiate and i now she was messed up from all that but still you could have been the one to help her with loving the abuse. anyways, i don’t know if i liked the ritual more than this but i do know that this is “only” 4 stars due to some of the things that happened in this book.

The book was good, it took me longer than usual to finish but the last fourth of the book was where everything started to click and come together. Definitely made you feel angry at the main characters throughout the book but the smut scenes are good. Definitely check TWs.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
POV: Dual - Sin & Elli

Easton “Sin” Sinnett and Ellington “Elli” Asher were born into a secret society run by the Lords. They grew up together and have been raised to carry on the next generation. We follow Sin and Elli, now students at Barrington University. The host of the Lords secret society.

Successful Lord graduates go on to become the next generation of powerful, elite leaders across the country. Ladies are essentially a Lords for the taking, raised to be obedient lap dogs.

Sin as a Lord is more than happy to abide by the rules set forth by the Lords. Elli, unfortunately saw the dark side of the society. She has been trained for the wrong reasons and has had an absolutely horrific upbringing - I felt so incredible sorry and protective of her. The experiences she had growing up and the things she was made endure were abhorrent.

Sin wants Elli and he will have her, one way or another. But if he wants Elli he needs to face the consequences. Sin is possessive of Elli bordering on obsessed. He claims her as his, kills for her and quite literally brands her only to continue to break her heart time and time again. One minute he loves her and the next he’s saying they belong to other people, talk about whiplash.

This was an emotional rollercoaster!! Literally from the very beginning. I felt so many emotions. At times I was sad, others I was disgusted. I went from absolutely livid to moments where my spine tingled. I do feel as though the dark elements of this book really took away from the overall story. The romance was hidden behind Sin’s sadist tendencies and Elli’s need for degradation and humiliation.
