I really loved this book. There are much plot holes, which is awesome. This is a pure true love story set in a dark world. I do want to point out that the author is graphic in their descriptions, but they also dedicate time to the recovery of the characters.

Pretty good but the ending dragged on a bit with two kidnapping-esque instances happening one after the other. 
Before that though, I enjoyed it immensely. I like the character interactions. It's not a comedy, but there are light-hearted moments. 
I knew how some things were going to turn out, but I couldn't figure out how they would explain it, so it was satisfying in the end when identities were revealed.

Easy 5 stars. The world building alone is fantastic.  Definitely check trigger warnings, this is not a happy go lucky book, but it had me ask the way hooked.  Can't wait to start the next one

Oh wow was this dark. I went in with no expectations and was blown away by a world which sucked me in immediately. Although the pace was slower than I expected, there was enough action to keep it moving and the relationship between Evie and Declan progressed really naturally. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series and learn more about this world and its characters!!

AMAZING- I think I have found my emotional support book! The fantasy, romance, suspense, and spice were all perfectly balanced together. The brightness of Evangeline and the contrast of dark and gloomy Declan really is perfect. Although, this book is very dark and can be quite triggering for people, so if you’re affected by the content warnings then please don’t read this book! It would be an understatement  to say that this book made me shed a tear… I sobbed BUCKETS. Everything about this book is perfect and you should 100% read it. Strangers to lovers with forced proximity… AMAZING

This was an amazing story.  It was very intricate and lots of twists and turns at the end.   I loved the story of it and the lengths to which he waited for her.

Listen… this is a good book. Sometimes, but only sometimes, there was too much sex for me and I was thinking what happened to the plot line, but when we got back to the plot it was all worth it. And really, there’s only one real described sex scene, the others are more fade to black, but still enjoyable. Just not spicy spicy if that’s what others are looking for. No cliffhanger at the ending, but still so many questions are open. And I really like the world and I think book 3 is even about another character of the „friends“ group, which I‘m really looking forward to.
