I loved this book. Such a simple yet insightful read. I just downloaded 5 more HG Wells books

Definitely a classic. Definitely worth the read for its place in the Sci-Fi genre.

I wish this had been required reading sometime in my education because I think it offers tinder for stimulating academic conversations on not only the Sci-Fi genre (which I would love to learn more about!) but also Wells’ social commentary.

Although this book is close to my cup of tea, it’s not quite it. It’s certainly not a book I’m confident I’ll reread without due cause.

Still processing but, my goodness HG Wells packed a lot into this. So many metaphors on civilization... and how it is all meaningless?

All in all, I enjoyed it

A classic for sure, I found myself wanting to reread it to see if I was able to glean anything different the second time around. I did find the messages of class separation hitting a lot harder on this second time around reading it. I also found myself thinking on the meaning of wanting to view the time ahead, and how different that might be. Wells did a wonderful job of leaving the ending in such a way that you can’t help but reflect on how our actions now could impact our distant future. I definitely plan on adding this to my re-read pile to continue to see how my own time lapses help me relate to the story being told.

Some of the overall concepts it explores are both interesting as science fiction as well as a reflection of the era it was written, but some of it falls a bit flat.

Great foresight for the age of the book. I’m really loving HG Wells’ classic collection of fiction.

He was extremely well researched for his time.

The story is well narrated and intriguing all the way through definitely an amazing read.

I liked that we went veeeeery far into the future. If it were just 150 years or so, that would have been weird, but this way, the author could channel all imagination and in a way "not be wrong" we all don't know it :)
Moreover, I was astonished that there were some kind of physical explanations especially at the beginning of the novel, which I enjoyed.
I noticed also that there were almost no women in the story (i.e. all more or less intelligent beings were men), which displays the standings of women in the 19th century pretty well I guess.

P.S. Back To The Future is my most favorite movie of all time, I obviously had to read this book, simply because it contains time traveling which is sooo fascinating to me.
