I'm giving this book a 1.75 out of 5 stars with the extra .75 because it was well written and I did like hearing a male POV which is different from the books I normally read. I was really excited when I received this ARC but about 30% in it was hard to finish. To say this is not my normal read is a big understatement. Rich was a selfish creep of a cheater who continued to complicate his life and truly Amy and Robin weren't much better. This was a hard book for me to read and too much longer than it normally takes to read a book but the characters and plot line were hard for me to really get into it. If you into introspective narratives this ones for you. Me? Not so much.

I started reading this book for the same reason you flip through channels for 10 minutes settling for whatever is on before what you actually want to watch. I needed a book to pass the time until I got to what I actually wanted to read. In that same vein, reading Who Is Rich? is like turning on the movie 25 minutes into it. You have no idea how the characters ended up there or why and frankly, you don’t care. But I just keep watching (reading) as I count down the minutes (pages) until I can move on to the feature film (book) I really made popcorn for.

I’m bored of infidelity as a plot device.

How to describe Rich... pathetic? Groan. Ick. But Amy, Robin, they're all kind of "ick". Who to root for? I do not know. And yet, they're each relatable in a way to our worst, most base, darkest thoughts - the ones we push away. Hopefully successfully. And yet, Rich is funny, in a wry, dark way. I was surprised every time I laughed even though it was often, because it was so unexpected because it's not common in lit, but on the other hand, ooh yeah, I could imagine those snarky comments popping into my head, although I wouldn't utter them out loud. maybe.

An emotional rollercoaster, not for those who are unprepared for the feels.

It was fun to read about my neighborhood and city in this book... But what a drama queen! Just have an affair and enjoy life.

Beautiful writing. Hated every character. No one had any redeeming traits, except for maybe Beanie. Are people really like this?

Truth is, I couldn't finish this book. I just didn't like it. The characters didn't have any redeeming qualities. They were sad and selfish and just...ugh. Maybe I will come back to it when I am in a better place, but that place is not now.

A very funny book about marital failings, artistic desolation, the inability to meet expectations and adult male alienation. Not totally my thing but Klam had me captured and enjoying Rich on the verge of a nervous breakdown. This midlife crisis novel is more than it might initally seem and is certainly greater than the sum of its parts.
