great
This was very good, I loved almost every minute. The plot twists were pretty decent, but plot itself was on point. This is a great book to ease yourself into the world of smut

"You’ve got me believing in forever, after all.”
All the feels with this one.. and gut wrenching!
Elena Rousseau never wanted to walk into that club. She never anticipated running into the one person that she never saw again after a brief encounter on a night out and now he was standing in the way of something she ultimately had no choice over.
Alexander Kennedy was searching for that mystery woman from the bar, who captivated him and leaving him wanting more. What he didn't expect was to see that same woman standing outside a gentleman's club and realizing it was his brothers best friend.
I have never read anything from this author before and I dove into this book blind just like I do with all other new authors, I should've maybe peeked a bit cause the emotions were TOP NOTCH!
Elena & Alexander were an ember just waiting to grow into a full blown inferno but ultimately it was almost put out when things come to light and truths are revealed, painful and very hurtful truths.
“I’ve spent my entire life loving people that didn’t love me back. I won’t do it again. I won’t. Not even for you.”
My heart was broken into tiny slithers all throughout this book..
Elena's mom..
Elena's fathers treatment of her..
Alexanders treatment of her..
All of Elena's emotions were like a punch to the gut and resonated deeply. If you have never experienced the pain that Elena goes through at those points in the book it is hard to grasp how much it hurts to have those words flung at you so carelessly and them not care of the after effect, it's a hurt that embeds itself deep within. The saying "I'll forgive but I won't forget" that comes to mind everytime.
"You stole my heart day by day, and I didn’t even realize it. I didn’t realize that you fucking own me."
THE VOWS!!
I cannot, those two words are all that need to be said..when you get to this part after everything else you will get it. Whether it's with a dry eye or while the tears dry this part is everything.
I am for sure going to dive into more of this authors books, the next question is do I do blind or do I go in after reading the blurb?

If you really enjoy groveling, which I think everyone does especially when it's absolutely needed, add this book to your list because the groveling was so good. Lol.
The FMC Elena is strong and determined, and even though she is going through a tough time she never wavers and continues to fight for what she believes in. Her mother has been in a coma for years due to a car accident that she believes wasn't an accident at all. She has been disowned by her father and her stepmom. Her brother and step-sister despise her and treat her like shit. She was alone in the world fighting for her mom and overworking herself to make sure her mom is taken care of. After the mom's accident when her father remarried a year later, she was forced to leave the life she had behind which included her best friend Lucian Kennedy and her crush Lucian's older brother Alexander.
Alexander is your typical rich asshole that is scorned. He saw how fucked up his parent's relationship always was, his father always cheating on his mom. It made him feel like love is a weakness and then after finding his fiance cheating on him he believed that love was the root cause of unhappiness and basically made a vow to himself that he wouldn't love again. So when he offered to help Elena financially after reuniting with her years later in exchange for her hand in marriage due to his grandpa's stipulation in order for him to take over his grandpa's company, he straight up told her that she'll give her anything she wants except love.
I love the relationship between Elena and Alec. When his guard was down and the real him that didn't care about hating love came to light, it was what Elena held onto, hoping that the arranged marriage with him will eventually become more than a business arrangement, she believed that they would find love in the marriage and yes they did but Alec was so stubborn it took him longer to realize that he truly loved Elena and couldn't imagine a life without her.
There are a good amount of twists and gaspy moments in the book and it blends into the story wonderfully. The epilogue was so sweet. I love finding out what their lives are like years later. Highly recommend this book.

I think in the first quarter of the book I'm genuinely excited and the story's been going great and then it's not.
The possessiveness of the H is too ridiculous.
H's plan to destroy h's family - Too cheesy.
H's ignorance to his love for h - Annoying and dragged on.
h's mommy suddenly wake up and not dead - Too convenient.
I'm sorry haha, I'm so fedup right now with my masters, I can't even enjoy reading books for fun anymore ;(

Incredible read! Loss, heartbreak, renewed friendship, & love
MMC : Alexander (Alec) grew up in a wealthy family working hard to inherit his grandfather’s business. Unfortunately for him, his grandfathers stipulation requires Alec to be married in order to be able to take over the business. One night while out a local club he comes across a stunning young woman he can’t take his eyes off of. She’s seems familiar but he can’t quite place how he knows her. Right before she gets called away, she calls him Alec which sends up red flags in his mind because NO ONE but a hand full of those closest to him call by that name.
MFC: Elena is young woman going through far more trouble than someone her age should ever experience. Her mother is a coma and has been for years. Her estranged father and brother have given up all hope for Elena’s mother’s survival and have moved on with new lives forsaking Elena. Elena inherited 1/2 of her mother’s inheritance when doctors deemed her mother brain dead. Elena has depleted the millions of dollars of inheritance to keep her mother alive for many years and now she has nothing left and no way to continue paying for her mothers medical care
Plot:
Elena is now faced with having to do the unthinkable and sell her body at an exclusive men’s club to earn the funds to keep her mother alive.
Elena is going to interview at the exclusive men’s club and runs into none other than Alec and Alec’s brother Lucian (Elena’s best childhood friend) in the lobby of the place where she is interviewing. Since Lucian was her best friend, he recognized Elena immediately. Only then does Alex put the pieces together and not only recognizes his childhood friend, but this is also the woman from the nightclub he couldn’t stop thinking about.
Unbeknownst to Elena, Alec & Lucian know the type of interview she’s going into and they are friends with the owner. Alec puts a stop to the interview and between him and Lucian, they take her back to their house.
Lucian and Alec are able to figure out what is going on and why Elena was trying to get a job at the exclusive men’s club.
Since Alec needs a wife and Elena needs money to keep her mother alive, an agreement is put in place and they decide the best option is to marry. The only stipulation is that Alec is adamant that he will never love her. He believes himself to be incapable of love. So the agreement is put in place.
After the quick courthouse marriage, Elena hires a PI to dig further into the car accident that caused Elena’s mother’s coma based on pure suspicion.
The story contains heartbreaking twists that no one was prepared for, but with Alec fiercely fighting at Elena’s side to get to the truth, he showing Elena just how capable he is of love, but he’ll never admit to it, even if it means losing Elena
I love the instant compatibility between the 2 MC’s. Even though Alec fights his unavoidable attraction, he still treats her like a Queen (most of the time). The spice is amazing and the emotions written truly draw you into the scenes. There are moments when Alec fights his feelings so hard that he hurts Elena and while I don’t enjoy that, it’s important for character development.
Tropes: will they/won’t they, grumpy/sunshine & forced proximity
Trigger warnings: attempted murder, explicit sexual content, family betrayal, & adult language

this was my first book by the author I’ve ever read, and it has been a phenomenal read!! I started reading it. I could not put this book down. The characters are written so fantastic. The way it was breaking my heart at times only to be put back together in the most beautiful manner. The characters are so well written the storyline is so well developed just a fantastic read and I would recommend this to everyone.
