**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**

I just love a vampire romance! Another amazing paranormal mm romance that had a great story. It had a little less spice than I was expecting but Chase and Eric’s relationship was great, regardless of spice levels.

The story was really interesting, I felt like there was so many villains, I wasn’t sure who I could trust. Chase is a police officer who intervenes when a vampire is attacking a woman, he doesn’t know the attacker is a vampire. Eric is a vampire and detective, he’s a few blocks away when he hears the attack and arrives in time to save Chase. Now a vampire knows that Chase seen him and needs to make sure to cover his tracks. Even though Eric doesn’t want a relationship with a human or anyone else, their relationship begins to grow into something Eric didn’t plan for. Chase’s life is in danger and Eric will stop at nothing to protect him but these villains won’t make it easy. Some are ruthless, some are just petty.
There were twists I didn’t see coming and some I did, but that didn’t really take away from the story. I do wish that Eric was a little less secretive with Chase, especially after Chase knew that Eric was a vampire, I loved Eric’s protectiveness but Chase wasn’t a damsel either so it would have been nice to see them working as a team a little more when it came to dealing with the other vampires.

I love when there's a law enforcement guy and he gets paired up with a secret supernatural creature to solve a case. Chase ends up on desk duty after his partner catches a case of the wrong place, wrong timesies. In a way that didn't feel sanctioned by the Chicago PD at all, Eric starts taking Chase out into the field with him and ends up involved with some other bad vamps.

I thought the whole situation that happened at city hall seemed a little rushed but all in all, I didn't mind it. With how the story was going, there was only one way through for Chase and I'm glad he got to make his own choices. I very much appreciated that there was no room for reconciliation with Miguel. He was the second worst in this book next to Chase's father.

I got a kick out of this. It had a fairly heavy paranormal story line but was still romantic and whatnot. I squawked out loud when a New Orleans werewolf showed up. Give me more about him.

"Was there a BINGO card or something I could fill out? If enough bad shit happened to me, did I win a prize? Or was I *that* fucking unlucky?"

Officer Chase Turner is definitely unlucky. Diagnosed with PTSD from a traumatic experience in the army, a mother who made him promise to stick with his abusive father while on her deathbed, a closeted ex who refuses to leave him alone, and then to top it all off, his partner is murdered while both men are trying to intervene when a vampire brutally attacks a woman.

Enter Detective Eric Collins, a vampire who is just trying to live his life and do the best with every case that lands on his desk. Eric saves Chases' life, thus throwing them together in the cutest unofficial partnership ever.

Eric and Chase have a very rocky start but I love how their partnership slowly develops into a wonderful and strong friendship. The endless coffees, Mexican food, and paperclip wars, and how Eric just helps silences the screaming in Chase's head. How both men worked well with each other and how their partnership was just so... GOOD.

The friendship however does have endless tension, and eventually both men fall for each other, and once they fall? They went HARD. Now, this is a slow burn but once they were together, holy it was crazy intense.

"Fuck, Eric," he groaned, meeting my thrusts as hard as I was giving them. "Use that fucking hole."
"It's my hole now."

MA'AM.

Per Sanguinem was just SO beautifully done and I literally couldn't put it down. Although this book is VERY thick, it never dragged nor did it feel like there was filler to pass scenes by. It's very plot and character driven with every character bringing such intense feelings and you can't help but either absolutely love them or absolutely hate them (especially a certain IA officer), and I can only hope we get another peek into their lives or even a certain someone's life. Hint hint.

I was super excited to read this as soon as I read the blurb, and it did not disappoint!!! This steamy m/m romance between a human cop and a vampire detective was everything I could’ve wished for and more. Chase and Eric’s love story was definitely unconventional, but that didn’t make it any less amazing. I loved watching Chase slowly gain confidence in himself over the course of the novel, and I loved how fiercely protective Eric was of Chase as well. Their chemistry was scorching hot, and the action was amazing!!! 5 freaking stars!!!
