I want to hear Davis speak SO BADLY. She so clearly illuminates connections between the international struggles against oppression. Chapter 8 was particularly impactful for me.

This was an amazing collection of essays and interviews. Davis is great at having conversations about intersecting all struggles to bring awareness to everything and everyone that needs support.

Angela Davis is brilliant. This work makes me want to be more of an activist than I am. This book is essentially a collection of speeches Angela Davis has given over the years and each one was different while somehow touching on the same topics throughout. Our world is so intertwined. If you want to work toward changing the status quo, start with this book.

While I love when the author reads their work for an audiobook, I think this one is best read in print. I will be on the lookout for a copy. It was a bit repetitive but otherwise very interesting and helpful. All our struggles are connected and this book gives evidence.

This book collects some of Davis’s speeches and essays, alongside interviews with her. Since all of the collected materials are from within the same time period, the book can feel a bit repetitive at times, but a lot of Davis’s points are still impactful.

I had to put this book multiple times, because Davis kept bringing up points that resonated with me. I will say at times that it does get repetitive; however, perhaps this was intentional since repetition reinforces information to be remembered.... I would recommend anyone to read this book once because it's quite short and I really love the multiple topics discussed. There are many instances where I just felt so seen as a person and had always wanted to express but never had a way to put it into words. Free Palestine!! Support BDS!! Only as a collective can we achieve this!!!
