This thriller centers around Isabelle Drake whose son Mason was kidnapped a year ago. It flip flops between the present day and when Isabelle was a little girl. You find out her sister Margaret drowned when they were young under mysterious circumstances. We also find out Isabelle is a sleepwalker so there’s this whole mystery that shrouds her. Did she kill her sister and then decades later her son while sleepwalking? That’s basically the gist of this mystery. She meets Waylon, a true crime podcaster interested in helping her. He stays with her while they research things for the case. Isabelle thinks Waylon angle is that she murdered her son which she starts to believe as well. It turns out that he is actually trying to prove Isabelle’s husband, Ben is the guilty one. Turns out Ben’s ex wife, Alison, died of an “accidental overdose” while Ben started having his affair with Alison and now that Mason was missing he starts seeing another woman… Valerie! I immediately knew Ben was involved somehow. Dating a series of doppelgängers that somehow end up out of the picture… I CHOSE THE BEAR. Turns out that Valerie isn’t innocent either as they conspired together to get rid of Mason to have a fresh start together. Luckily Mason was given to a woman instead of murdered and Isabelle gets her happy ending, and Ben goes STRAIGHT TO JAIL. Pretty solid thriller, kept me motivated to find out what happened.

3.5 stars- a good ol’ mystery with a slight hint of thriller, and I enjoyed the story and twists. Def would recommend for someone looking for an easy read in this genre.
Felt a bit uneventful until the latter half of the book; however, because its not a long book, the chapters are short, and it flips back in time, I didn’t find myself bored (more just itching for some action). Also ever so slightly predictable.

5 stars!! I was hooked from the start - so engaging and fast-paced but honestly didn’t think I was going to end up liking it as much as I did. There were twists and turns all throughout and I wasn’t expecting things to end up how they did. The author did a great job dropping little Easter eggs but not making anything predictable. A lot of deeper themes that came full circle and overall a really good thriller! Did this on audio and loved the narration
