Nice twist at the end. The cliffhanger makes you want to read the next book.

CW: Sexual assault, cohesion, and human trafficking.

This book was more enjoyable than I expected it to be. The love the story within the book was a heartbreaking. From two kids from Salone to have a rough life ahead of them was tearing me apart. What made this book more than a 4 star was because it is a real story wrapped in fiction. If you know a few people who have experienced things in this book you would feel some type of way. I can’t even begin to feel thankful of folks who will feel seen reading this book.

It’s dark, but soooo good. Baron is a pos. The ending made me sad but I’m excited for book 2

When I first started the book I wasn't sure I was going to finish it. As I got into the book and read about Liberty and A'Shai's life it drew me in and I couldn't put the book down. Interested in the sequel. Sounds like it will be good.
