There’s one problem with reading a book as soon as it comes out and realizing you’re in love with it: now you have to wait a long time in agony for the next one to be written and released.

This was the perfect wild ride. And the perfect set up for the next book in the series which I feel I’m going to love even more because ANGSTTTTTTTTTT.

• Nita: I LOVE you. I’ve added her to my fave female protagonists lists. JUST YES TO HER. She is so precious, and her morals are amazing even though it’s something she constantly doubts about. She’s such an active character, really taking charge of her story. I very much Stan.

• Kovit: equally parts squicked by him but also fond of him. Hope to see more of him and I’m so proud of his own morals and self goals

• world building: 10/10

• writing: 100/10

Ooooo the last quarter of this book had me squirming with phantom pain all over my body. There’s so many injuries omg. But it was an epic read. This author may soon become one of my faves!

NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW.

besties i read the book bc of the webtoon comic and people always say “the book was better” but in this case i don’t think i could choose which media form i preferred bc they both did an outstanding job of telling the story. a very unique and modern universe with all sorts of mythological creatures, corrupt governments, and morally gray characters, it’s everything i could ask for. the main character is not relatable in obvious ways but she’s easy to sympathize with and it’s hard not to love her, super excited for the sequel and to further explore this universe

Language.

_X_ Try it! You’ll probably like it (wasn’t for me, but it’s well-written).
__ Meh. If you have nothing else to read, try it.
__ Don’t waste your time with this one!

Honestly, I was counting down the pages as I reached then end, not wanting it to end. This book just got better and better. I loved the narration tone and sick realism of Nita’s emotional turmoil.
