I'm a little bit confused, however there are some words that made me feel fear, which is, what I believe, is supposed to happen. Right ?

This read leaves me perplexed and feels like I've wasted my time.

it was so peculiar, everything from the decay to the cracks in the ceiling made me uneasy really fast, then the rest of the novel got easy to read. i felt the gothic and somber ambiance was really well written, as expected from poe, i really liked it. it also helps that it was super short, it left a lot to the imagination
