I loved this so so much. The opening pages are things that have actually stopped me from participating in certain geek things. It was so nice to have my story told. I thought the ending was a little too easy but I loved every second of this entire book. Definitely a must read if you are sick of being called a fake geek girl.

This was so much fun! I really want to try dnd now, and be better at sewing lol.

This book combines cosplay and dnd with themes of geek girl culture and trolling, and honestly it does it so well. The costume element was really visual and sounded amazing.

I also really enjoyed the way it showed how even supportive men can sometimes not understand some of the worst elements of being a girl online. All the characters do things they maybe shouldn’t, but I think the book deals with the fallout from it all pretty well.

Overall just pure fun even with the serious themes. Well worth a read

@knopfteen #partner • When I heard this March 13th title is about a teen who designs and sews, I was instantly interested! And then I started reading and realized it’s about SO MUCH MORE than that. There are comics and cosplay and Dungeons and Dragons and bloggers and internet haters.....oh yeah, and some fabulous sewing scenes as well!

Given my lack of background knowledge about any of the cosplay and D & D stuff, I won’t attempt to “review” those. I loved the sewing and design aspects and the messages of overcoming evil people online. I also appreciated Cameron struggling to become a stronger feminist figure ~ she is definitely flawed and drove me a little crazy at times, but she’s a teen and we are ALL flawed! The story overall is entertaining and definitely fills a niche in the YA market.....and will appeal to adult readers who are interested in all of the above as well.

An adorable romantic comedy AND so much sass about geek culture. Also their D&D game sounds fun and I would like to play.

Super cute, super light! If you liked “She’s the Man” but thought “there should be more DnD in this,” this is the book for you!

I really enjoyed this YA novel, even if I didn't understand all of the Dungeons & Dragons and comic book references. It's a fantastic and realistic feminist storyline about a high school girl dealing with dude-bro misogyny in the gaming world. A very easy and enjoyable read!

The first interaction being a gatekeeper dude was honestly the best part of this book, because it's so true.

I might need to change my current genre of reading, because young adult emotions are a bit too OTT for me, currently. I tried to keep that aside and review the book as is, about girls who want to enjoy "boy" things just like anyone else.

I liked that her dorky dad introduced her to something which later became the inspiration for her portfolio. I also liked that there wasn't an everyone wins, everything is great ending, but a more realistic one. Brody.... aah I have met a lot of Brodies in my life, so his ending being the begrudging boy who doesn't realize how problematic he is sounds about right to me.

Good going, Whitney Gardner!

This was so cute and easy to read I finished it in a day! She’s the Man was one of my favorite movies in my younger days, and this is like the nerd version of that.
