never felt the NEED on why we were here. Like a decent enough story but no girth.

She's getting married. To him! She's just an Albanian girl who cleaned for him and yet, he chose her! Her Maxim. Her Mister. She cannot even dare to believe it. That he loves her. The Earl of Trevethick. But Alessia has doubts that she will be accepted by his family, and while Maxim may call her his Countess, she is no born and bred lady.

Battling with reconciling Maxim and his past - his very notoriously bachelor past - Alessia worries that she lacks what every other woman he has been with has. The confidence, the regality is something she will have to learn in order to be the person his family expects her to be. But even after overcoming the kidnapping and trafficking, Alessia struggles with survivor's guilt. So she does what she can in order to find the girls that were trafficked with her.

Maxim, on the other hand, is still dealing with the loss of his brother but it seems that family secrets played a role in his death and Maxim is determined to find out just what his brother and his mother were keeping from him. While he still worries that Alessia could be snatched away from him again, he knows he needs to learn to trust that she can take care of herself. But will his past drive a wedge between them? Will he lose her anyway?

My thoughts:
I really liked this series. The plot was so good and the story is such a sweet, heartwarming read. I love how Maxim never had doubts about Alessia because of her lower class and that he kept fighting for her. Alessia is so talented and such a wonderful person, and I loved how everyone who met her was totally enamored by her! Her self doubt made this story so real, I mean, give me one woman who hasn't felt threatened by someone's past! I did feel that this book dragged a little and I preffered the first book but it was a good ending to the series and I loved how Alessia's dreams finally came true.

The switch between Maxim's first pov and Alessias's third pov was a bit confusing. I didn't feel like there was much plot and the little plot there was was handled within two pages near the end. I didn't think this book was needed, it could have been more a novella or extended epilogue to the first book.
