This story was darker and had a lot more intense themes and scenes than the other Lily Gold books I have read. I have not experienced the things that the main character does, but I feel like it was handled well and was not idealized or romanticized in any way.

I really liked the love interests in this book. The fell into the typical reverse harem archetypes, but they were all individuals outside of the relationship which was refreshing. They all have tragic and unique stories and are a great group both in and out of the relationship.

The story is good and fun smut as it is supposed to me. And I've said it before and I will say it again, I have no problem with that!

Triple Duty Bodyguards was good, but Friends with Benefits was better. The spice was about the same for both books, however I feel like FwB had better character development. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand Lily Gold’s writing, and I appreciate it as a pallet cleanser between high fantasy & sci-fi reads. The portrayal of PTSD and mental illness could use some work, as someone with loved ones with PTSD etc, it can be very difficult to love and support them when they’re struggling.

Lily writes some of the best reverse harems that I've ever read. Certainly romcom RH. It's everything I never knew I needed. Briar is such a strong woman, fighting for other people whilst giving up big parts of her own privacy and independence. The men are all really special in their own right. She wrote really diverse, complex and deep characters. The portrayal of mental illnesses was done remarkably well. I love reading multiple POVs and was pleasantly surprised that she even included the stalker's POV. A very gripping and powerful story. Add to that some very incredible spice. Amazing.
