Usually when I read a trilogy, the third book is sometimes not what I hope for. Sometimes it feels as if the author rushes the story to just end it. THIS IS NOT one of those trilogies. The author does such an amazing job wrapping up the story, answering questions, and tying the story together I almost wish they would make this series into a film. I fell in love with each of the characters and at times when things happen that a you don't expect, it just makes the story that much better and relatable. I am excited to see what other novels Amy Ewing will produce in the future.

The third book picks up a few months later where our heroine is now back in the Jewel hiding underneath the noses of the royals trying to save her sister and overthrow the society. This third book was slow and brings up the inevitable that is much the storyline of YA books. There is a bit of twist that unfolds near the end. Good YA series.

This was my least favorite of the trilogy. It began in such a stereotypical dystopian way. The romance, the gathering of the forces (90% young adults with the occasional wise old mentor), and the horrors of war.

What I Liked
The fact that Coral was at least not an entirely terrible person helped there to be a slightly more dimensional royal character. Slightly.

What I Didn't Like
Ash wasn't in the story. Seriously, he was hardly there.

Every death was handy and seemed so well-planned and perfect. Even the main death
SpoilerLucien's
was hinted at so much throughout the book that I could see it coming the entire time... but I never really understood what led up to that point.

This is a good ending to this series. I was afraid one certain person would die and they didn’t, so that’s always a plus. The twist is completely crazy - no one could have ever guessed it was coming! This book answered all of the questions I had, so I thought it ended very well.

I really wasn't that thrilled with where they left the second installment of this series, but after reading all three I can say it was time well spent.

Amazing final book in the Lone City Trilogy! Definitely went a way that I was not expecting, but I am completely satisfied with how all events went down. Without giving anything away, the only thing I wanted was a longer book. The ending seemed fast, like there should have been an epilogue. I want to see things 6 months later or 1 year later, and follow some of the minor characters like Rye and see how the companions and all the oppressed people made out. So I hope the author makes some sort of epilogue short after story like Marissa Meyer did for the Lunar chronicles. Would highly recommend the entire trilogy!
