Aaaaaaaaa no se por donde empezar. He devorado este libro en menos de 24 h ha sido increíble. No me he podido enamorar más de los personajes y de la historia. Carter y Ollie (speechless) Carter is a softie and i love him.

So, this was very cute. It made me smile and it was very easy to read. The writing is really smooth and flows really well, the two main characters, Olivia and Carter, are very likable, and they had great chemistry. They’re both cute and endearing. Carter’s transition from player to doting boyfriend is very sweetly done – he definitely falls harder for sure. They also had great levels of communication which was refreshing; I liked tat they didn’t let the arguments fester and they talked things through. The sex scenes were hot and steamy and very well-written.

However, I thought the conflict in the book was a bit repetitive, and the final bit of drama felt very flat and underwhelming and was over way too quickly. There were moments of angst in this that I quite liked, and I would have liked to see more of that.

But my main issue with this book was the pacing. It felt very slow and, to be honest, it wasn’t always the most interesting of books. If you’re looking for a lot of fluff then this could work for you, as the second half of this book felt like it was nearly entirely fluff and not that much happens, and it began to feel quite long and plodding. Being very honest, I felt like a lot of the second half of the book felt like filler, like bonus chapter material. I thought the book as a whole needed a good edit – it just felt too long.

That said – I did enjoy it. It’s a very light and fluffy read, well-written and fun to read, but it just felt a bit inflated and too long in parts. Still, I’d definitely read more by this author in the future.

Content Notes: Hockey, playboy.

Warnings:
SpoilerDeath of a parent (in past), grief, sexual harassment, threat to distribute intimate photographs without consent, hospital scenes.

Other:
SpoilerOn-page sex, unprotected sex
SpoilerNo condoms used, FMC is on birth control, brief discussion of STIs.
, rough sex, spanking, oral sex, taking of photographs during sex, pregnancy (FMC, in epilogue), infidelity / cheating (not between MCs), OW stuff (quite long!)
SpoilerMultiple points here. Book opens immediately after the MMC has had sex with OW, before he’s met the FMC. He treats the OW pretty badly in this scene in my opinion.

MMC has had a lot of sexual partners and this is discussed in detail throughout, for example, he owns a condo he only uses for sex with women. The FMC is very insecure about the MMC’s sexual history and this is the source of most of the conflict between the two of them.

MMC considers sleeping with OW after he’s slept with the FMC. He starts to take the OW back to his condo but changes his mind. They’re photographed by paparazzi but the OW in this case makes it clear publicly that they didn’t sleep together.

Another OW, Courtney, the girlfriend of the MMC’s teammate, hits on the MMC, but he rejects her. Courtney is responsible for a lot of the drama between the MMC and the FMC. She tells a different woman that the MMC wants to sleep with her. This second OW then hits on him in front of the FMC, mistakenly believing he wanted her to. He turns her down.

Courtney then conspires with a friend to steal the MMC’s phone and steal intimate photographs of the FMC which she uses to blackmail him into ending his relationship with the FMC. In this part of the book he meets with Courtney and her friend in a hotel room and it looks like he’s cheated on the FMC, which he initially lets her believe. However, he never cheats on the FMC and is celibate during their separation.

Good book but so extremely lengthy, like there is no emotional stuff to fill up the length, no slow burn and the 3rd act break up plaster like 10 pages, overall I had fun but wished it was shorter

okay so.
There is not one chapter in this book where it’s not talking about how short the fmc is, which, don’t get me wrong, was cute at first but then it just got out of hand. The book is so damn LONG for no reason, skimmed through half of it tbh. I admit there were cute moments that really did make me giggle. Overall, I enjoyed this, would I recommend it to anyone? No.

Idk if i can finish this, I’ve never been so bored. I’m around 38% and this book dragsss. I think a lot should have been cut out or just fix up the pacing. Also the comments were not lying about the short thing. Its mentioned every 5 sentences. It’s redundant and honestly annoying (among other things) and kinda sexualized by the mc which i don’t like. Shes just sooo tiny, but hey, she makes for it with her fierce attitude!! Just stop. Pls. Im gonna try to finish this bc i am STUBBORN. I do see how some ppl may like this, just so far it’s not for me sadly!
