Charlotte has always seen things and when she makes a decision at the age of six, to save her aunt’s life; her parents are the ones that suffer. Her mother is paralyzed and her father is dead. Ever since that day, Charlotte’s aunt Sierra has lived with them and also shares Charlotte’s secret. They both happen to be Oracles and no one can know what they can do.

Charlotte’s visions come and go and her aunt Sierra has trained her to fight them. Charlotte knows better than anyone the consequences of changing the things she sees but soon finds that she doesn't have as much control over the visions as she thought. While at school one day, she is pulled into a vision she stop and sees one of her classmates has been murdered. Thinking she has some time to figure out what to do, Charlotte does nothing. Unfortunately, the next day, she realizes it is now too late as the vision came true and she starts to feel guilty for not acting. This vision is followed up shortly with more.

When Charlotte goes to her aunt, she realizes she won’t get any answers from her. Although Sierra has been training her to resist/fight the visions, she hasn’t been completely forthcoming with information and details about what being an oracle really means for Charlotte and she continues to tell her she won’t share anything until Charlotte turns 18. This is the catalyst to Charlotte looking at other ways to both learn more about being an Oracle as well as figuring out what to do with these visions.

After the second vision and death, Charlotte receives a mysterious text message that essentially calls her out for not helping the students that died. Of course she feels guilty but she is a bit concerned about the message. With nowhere else to turn, she replies back to the message to try to figure out who knows her secret as well as how they can help her.

“Smith” is someone who happens to have a link to an Oracle and that is where he learned everything he knows. He clearly has secrets and although Charlotte feels like he is helping her, he is also putting her in a bad position. Although it wasn't completely obvious what his full story was, he had a plan and was going to use Charlotte to get what he wanted.

There is a little bit of a romance tied to this story but it didn't take over the rest of the story. Linden is the love interest for Charlotte and where she is somewhat unknown at school, he is considered popular and they don’t hang out but he is always nice and talks to her. When Bethany, the first victim, dies, Linden takes it hard as they were close. As he tells Charlotte, he just wants to not have to talk about it anymore and by becoming closer to Charlotte, he finds he doesn't have to.

So quite a bit gets revealed toward the end of this book and I’m not going to tell you any of it as I don’t want to ruin the mystery of what is really going on here. I though Pike did a great job of tying the story together and linking the stories of these characters together. This was a quick read that includes quite a bit of mystery alongside the paranormal aspect. If you like any of those things, definitely check this one out when you can.

Thank you to the Publisher and Edelweiss for the review copy.

Sleep No More has a very exciting Oracle premise. I think the author did a very good job of describing it and what Charlotte has to do in order to change the future, which must not have been easy to do. The writing style is 'to-the-point' and flows smoothly, making it very easy to read. I loved the main character - she wasn't too headstrong, she thought rationally and she is very smart. All the characters were very well-developed. Loved this book, looking forward to reading the next one!

This was a great book. I did't want to put it down, and was happy for a snow day so I could finish it!

Main character perfectly embodies that scene in Meet the Robinsons when it shows Goob walking down the hallway and everyone greets him and he says, "They all hated me." The victim mindset is annoying, but accurate for the character (she is a teenager, after all) and consistent, plus it works as a plot point, so whatever. The plot is what really pulls you through this novel, and once it takes hold I could get past the low-level cringe factor, and it was a quick read.

Mysteries are my thing. I love reading them because I find I reads faster so that I can figure out who the mystery person is. And that is why I think I liked Sleep No More by Aprilynne Pike so much, because I honest did not figure out who the killer was until after the reveal, and to me that is the mark of a great mystery. If you foll your readers into suspecting everyone in the book then woot! your job is done.

I have read any books by Aprilynne and the one thing that I think I love about her books is that they always have an element of fun and they are always extremely fast paced, so you read it extremely fast. Sleep No More did not waver from that because I loved the writing style, it was simple yet fast paced, and I loved that Charlotte was so likable but I honestly thought that her character could have done a lot more in depth because I felt like we only saw one side of her. Actually I thought that a lot of the character could have been more in depth, especially Charlotte's aunt who was so important to the story yet non existent throughout the book. I thought that if she was more present throughout the story than maybe the end would be been better in a way.

The reveal at the end of who the killer really was did come as sort of a shock but honestly it wasn't as surprising as it could have been. I felt like after that person was revealed then everything happened so fast that I had to reread some parts in order to get what happened. I felt like I did not have enough time to process certain information before more was dumped on me. I just wish that all the reveals were either spread out over time or that the reveal of the killer was slower.

What I really loved about this book was the Greek Mythology aspect, because we all know I am a sucker for all things Mythological. Oracles are aspects of Greek mythology that is most used, and I really loved the way Aprilynne used the seeing of the future to create this murder mystery that seemed to tie into this subject so well. I think that was my favorite part of the entire book was the fact that Charlotte could see the future and what would happen but had no idea how to stop the murders from happening. It was a great tension builder.

Overall I thought that this book was very entertaining and I thought the mystery aspect was great to read. But the characters could have been more in depth and that the end of the book could have been paced a bit better. But anyone who loves a good mystery will love this book!

That was a pretty intense little thriller there! Not at all what I expected. Quite dark and scary.

I remember reading this and feeling that Aprilynne had once again captured the magic that I had missed after the Wings series. It took a couple of misses from a few books, but this one had the same jolt with me as before. I know there's a sequel to this but I've yet to read it. I don't think there's a physical copy of the sequel and that kind of upsets me and probably why I didn't continue on.

Solid, paranormal thriller about a young oracle who is trying to get a handle on her powers and stop a serial killer. Difficult to put down, but also paints a portrat of a community living in shock and fear as their teenagers are murdered.

I'm really enjoying this book. I'm currently reading it and it's really good. And it does remind me of *Inception*. ♡'

random book that I bought because I didn't have one, and it was pretty good, but the plot twist was obvious. I was not aware that there is more than one book and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
