Too romantic.

Oliver Saks' side of the vignettes/conversations are endearing; cannot say the same for Hayes'. It only gets me interested to read more of and from Sacks. Hayes writing strangely dampened the energy that New York City has; reads dully.

One of the most romantic and inspiring books I've ever read. And so subtle in being so. Oliver Sacks is THE manic pixie dream girl to end them all, and in the most wholesome way, you can't help but love him. I also deeply appreciate who Bill is, and care about him. What a book to remind you to love life and being alive -and perhaps NY too :)

lovingly recommended by my very own <3

I love love and I love New York and I love books that portray both without feeling saccharine or melodramatic, that keep their sense of humor, surprise you, that live within small moments of beauty and connection. A series of little winks. That's NY writing at its best.

You can also tell just how fully Bill admires Oliver, and how mutually tender and playful their relationship was until the very end, and so now I love Oliver, too, and not only love him, but feel I know him, which is about as much as one can aspire to within a portrait of and tribute to your partnership.

Gorgeous. Off to read all of Oliver and Billy's other works, which I somehow have never done.
