There was a lot of backstory in this and I really like that! I think they did a good job of dividing the issues so far.

The Last Castle?!? That one really got me. HATE a creepy pregnancy arc though

I am just loving Fables. Wish they had made this into a HBO series.

Book one of this series ended on a questionable note for me but I’m so glad that I continued forward because this is a series that I can already tell is going to get better with each addition. I’ve quickly become invested in Bigby, Snow and the rest of the gang and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Standard of excellence maintained. Fairy tale noir with about the same ratio of scandalous machinations, sex and violence seen in the first book in the series. Pleasantly surprised by the turn to full lore mode in the last illustrated story and even more so by the short story included at the end. You don't often see graphic novels switch to full text, and it handily proves how much Bill Willingham can move between mediums, painting a tale with words, no pictures required.
The emerging pairing bridging this book's story arc? I ship it! 🥰
⚠️ Nudity, gore, reference to SA, also inferred non-con (while enchanted).

I've been meaning to get to these for years and glad I finally have. A collection of wonderful, dark takes on classic fables with an engaging overarching story. Excited to see where it goes!

I really love this volume, as it contains some excellent arcs within.

I especially love "The Last Castle," which sets the stage beautifully for the next arc while still being a beautiful stand-alone.
