Look I'm still effing mad about Batman 50, but this is also brilliant. God damn it. I just have to trust that Tom King is taking us on that journey that will be worth it in the end.

Found this volume to be very intriguing and entertaining. Loved the questions of violence raised for Bruce during Mr Freeze’s trial and the exploration of his relationship with Dick Grayson, the shock shooting and then hunt for the KGBeast. Awesome!

That first story arc in this one may be one of the best Batman tales ever made. Between the level, steady writing and the perfect artwork I could not have liked it more. It really takes me back to my first days of reading Batman.

Tom King does a good job of showing how Bruce deals with hurt. Still not a huge fan of the twists that often come at the end of each issue.

I received a copy of Batman Vol. 8 through NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

It feels weird knowing that all of the buildup is finally over – that the Batman/Catwoman plot has finally concluded. But it has, and we’re well on our way to moving past it. This is the first full volume to come out after that plot, and it was kind of nice that they didn’t just pretend it didn’t happen. But more on that below.

Rest of my review to follow
