Fantastic book for young girls to read as it fosters resiliency, grit, and determination as well as the value of friends in getting you to accomplish your goals. Cielo is a good skateboarder from the onset of the story, but a new skatepark has her questing her skills. Friends, Miro and Mia, help her push her fears and doubts aside to tackle "the whale."

A great book about a skater girl who loved doing tricks. On a new scary drop she fell, then was too scared to try again. The story has a great lesson of never giving up and the support of friends.

Cielo loves to skateboard and when a new skatepark opens up, no one is more excited than her. But when she takes a big fall on her first try, Cielo isn't sure skateboarding is still for her. Yes, this book is about skateboarding but it's really about fear, never giving up, and finding your community of friends who help you overcome challenges. A great book for any kid as whether you are a skater or not, everyone needs to learn how to try, try again.

A very cute story about learning a new skill, a topic that seems important for kids--and adults! Love the illustrations, wish Cielo's world was a little more fleshed out.
