This book likely would have gotten another star if all of my favorite stories didn't seem to all be bunched together. With only a few exceptions, all of the ones I thought were really funny were mostly bunched together in the first half. My attention started to wonder during the more serious second part.

Laurie Notaro is laugh out loud hilarious..in fact, she's laugh out-loud-snorts-ensure hilarious. I'd recommend this book to anyone who thinks they've had a bad day...because she's had bad months or even bad years! It's the way that Laurie looks at life and in the way that she tells her stories that makes you feel like a confidante and that you really can take over the world.

"Oh, my god, Laurie. You're so funny. Ha ha ha, oh, Laurie. You should write a book."

This author's friends/family/random strangers on the bus need to stop telling her she's funny. It's given her the false idea that she is funny. Maybe if everyone stops lying to her, she'll stop.

A light, fun book. Most of the stories made me laugh, a few out loud. I found much of the book to be very relatable, especially the chapter on buying boots...too perfect. Overall, the stories were hit and miss with regard to humor, but overall enjoyable.

Self absorbed stupidity that grew dull and boring quickly.
