This book was everything a bookseller could ever want. A love letter to booksellers, if you will. Especially the ones of us that have worked through this tumultuous time. The author captured the feelings and emotions of the pandemic so believably. I appreciate this book so much and I will never stop recommending it.

I felt a little lost reading the first Half of the book, but then found it engaging and thought the ending was perfectÂ

Such beautiful writing and striking metaphors.
I really appreciated the portrait of the Native people working at a Minneapolis bookstore during the time of the pandemic and the George Floyd/BLM protests. It is a good illustration of how we find community and support each other in hard times.
The main character, Tookie, and her husband are unforgettable characters.
I also enjoyed the sly way that Louise Erdrich includes herself as a minor character in the novel.
