If you already work in the data world, a lot of the information will hopefully be something you already know, however it's always good to brush up on the basics. Cole was able to provide some great ideas for me to up my graph game. If I had a critique, it would be that the book was a bit long and overly verbose. There are 7 lessons in it that you cover like 3 times. It probably could have been cut down by 50 pages, but it's still a great tool.

This is one of those books that must be re-read from time to time. I was expecting a tougher read, more complex and with strict instructions. But I found a fluid reading, with practical examples and in many moments, it felt like I was talking to a longtime friend.
I should have read it earlier, and from now on, it will be a regular read.

Worth browsing, clear examples and explanations of when to use charts and formatting for maximum impact. Similar to Wall Street Journal Guide to Information Graphics by Dona Wong.

Recommend doing one quick read through and then keeping it on the bookshelf for reference when creating presentations. Great content that I’ve referenced several times in the past month or so since reading. Don’t really get the hate on pie charts though.

I can't recommend this book enough to everyone who wants to learns how to improve their skills in the creation of visualizations, but also to people who wants to create better visual artifacts in general. I didn't know anything about Graphic Design before this book, and very little about storytelling, but now I think a have a pretty solid foundation to continue on my learning path and also I feel like I can apply what I've learned directly in my work.

This book feels like if you were taking a workshop with Cole, very well structured and insightful, but it's better in a sense because you have the knowledge and explanations permanently.

The references the book use are great too. So, in conclusion, if you want to learn a great deal, read this book.
