Definitely a sad and dark play from Martin McDonaugh. At times it felt like it was hammering the reader on the head with violence and it truly was a piece of writing that affects you.

Probably reading it in a sleep-deprived state was not ideal, but I thought it was really clever how McDonagh played with the plot(s). I didn't think that I'd find ' multiple stories within a story/play' an interesting concept - but it was very well constructed in this book/play.
Also, Google tells me that McDonagh is dating Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Phoebe Waller-Bridge - the amazing person who wrote 'Fleabag'. I'm keen to read more of his stuff. Although, considering that this book/play gave me chills, I should probably read the next one by him in daylight. I rarely get 'chills' by books/films, so I was surprised by this one.

Twisted, bizzarre, and not what I expected. A great read!
