Heartwarming, funny, a little predictable but then sometimes that is comforting!

What would Iona do? "Iona told her constantly, in life confidence was everything. If you're going to get it wrong, Martha, make sure you get it wrong with PANACHE! Surely they'll give you a mark for style, at least?"

This book renewed my faith in people. I'm sure someone will do something stupid tomorrow that will have me back on my "people suck" bullshit, but for tonight, I have hope. I also hope I cross paths with an Iona one day. Or better yet, grow up to be just like her.

A pure pleasure to read and touching too. I devoured this book and stayed up late to finish it.

I absolutely loved this story. I love the characters and their quirks and storyline for each of them and how they came together. I wish people could speak to each other on public transit the way they do in this book. The world would be a much better place if we could only connect and become friends.

I wonderful, feel-good book with interesting characters of all ages. If only this would happen when commuting. Personal connection is something we all need more of!

YES!!! A book where a woman of a certain age….albeit younger than me….is brilliant, compassionate, damaged, strong and funny. We all need some Iona in our lives

I love The Authenticity Project, but this one didn't quite land the same mark. Evoking Fredrik Backman's love of ensemble casts, Iona Iverson tried and almost successfully completed a well-rounded story of many moving pieces. There were some lovely moments but overall the characters felt underdeveloped and hard to track. I still love Pooley's writing and will read anything she puts out! But of her work so far, I have to give The Authenticity Project the win.
