I'm not too sure how I feel about this one. It kept me on my toes the whole time because there was so much to solve and so little time left of my audiobook but the conflicts dissolved too quickly. I wanted a bit more out of the ending. I'm happy for Lissa and Christian. I never shipped and never will ship Dimitri and Rose. I'm sad for Adrian, poor guy didn't deserve all this heartache. I might actually try to read bloodlines just to see what happens next.
I think that out of the popular vampire series out there this one might be the best. The story isn't just about romance, there's friendship and family involved too. There's no abusive relationship which as kids nowadays say "we stan". The author developed her writing style along this series. You can see how she gets better at it and her stories get more complex. And above all I just love the characters. They're a little plain not gonna lie but this just makes them more likeable for me. Lissa is timid but strong. Rose is stubborn but very loyal and has a sense of duty and honor. Christian and Adrian are also very loyal and will do anything to help those around them. Even my least favourite character, that being Dimitri is loyal and has a very strong sense of duty. They all have some redeeming qualities about them which I can't say about characters from other vampire series.

Never again.

Never again will I pick up this series. I had such hopes and now those hopes are shattered!

SpoilerI dislike Twilight. I loved Rose because she was a tough cookie. By the end of this series, by the end of this book (which I nearly skimmed through), I was done with her. I know she's not perfect, I know she's not 'amazing', but her way of handling her love life was just a big mess and one over-played trope in YA books that drive me insane.

I liked her and Dimitri together. I like her and Adrien together. But putting both men through that mess... no.

I think the only reason I followed through with this series is that it was different. I loved the author's writing, I loved the characters. But all of it was sacrificed for Dimitri and Rose time.

Oh well. At least if people ask me if I enjoyed the series, I'll say the first three are amazing.

Finally, the end to another series. I did like this book a lot and I adored this series. It was definitely worth the read and I love a lot of the characters. I love that Richelle Mead doesn’t stray from more adult topics but instead seems to tackle them a bit more head on. Overall, I just can’t believe I’m done with both her YA series like can I get a little more please????

I like this book. It's a good ending to the series.
