Book 3 in the color series and Kitty pulled out the triggers for this one, so please take care of yourself. It is a beautiful story, she absolutely did justice to the characters and the plot. To say this book is Star Wars coded would not be a stretch 😉.

Big G (George) must be protected at all costs. I love a strong, silent type, but he is even more lovable as a protector and basically a big ol teddy bear 🧸. He has flaws and past trauma that he is working through, but it makes him real and so relatable.

Kinsley, our Type A, perfectionist FMC is recovering from an accident and fighting to get back to normalcy and focus on her goals. There is only one problem, she has a class that is messing with that beautiful GPA of hers, a class standing in the way of her Med School dreams. Astronomy. So like any planner and goal oriented woman, she goes into problem solving mode and gets a tutor. That tutor is none other than our brooding big guy, George.

Throw two opposite personalities in a room together and what do you get…magnetism or mayhem. Let just say it’s uncomfy at first, a woman who can’t stop talking and a man who would rather keep his comments succinct than ramble. It’s very much giving me Jessica Day and Nick Miller vibes IYKYK. The hate is running deep at the beginning, they get little accomplished in their sessions. So an obvious solution, let’s prank each other (this had me thinking of New Girl wayyy too much).

As the pranks begin to escalate and someone else appears to be targeting Kinsley the two grow closer. Then in true Kitty King fashion we get a twist about Kinsley’s accident that will force her and George to face more trauma and turmoil. Will they be able to do it together and come out unscathed? Or will it be too much to bear for both of them? For that answer… pick it up and read 😘.

This read had spice, a deeply emotional roller coaster, excellent banter and the chemistry was on point. It was beautiful to see two characters grow together and help each other heal from their traumas. Also, please be warned there is an awkward AF threesome (Yes, worse than Levi’s) don’t say I didn’t tell you.

There are definitely has some really difficult scenes detailing abuse and trauma, but Kitty executes it perfectly. Helping us  to recognize the damage that was done how these survivors are able to move forward. This book champions the true meaning of being a survivor and the importance of acknowledging its impact. Kinsley and George both dealt with trauma, but the twisted narrative of blame, shame, and lack of belief caused so much more damage.

This book had me reeling in so many emotional states, but overall I could not put it down and I loved it. I probably sobbed more than I should have, but Kitty just pulls it out of me with these MMCs.

“To those who felt they could never say anything...this is your sign to speak up.”🤍

I am a huge of the Color Series so I was very excited for the latest installment: White Hole.

My nerdy heart was obsessed with this book the minute the title was released.  Stars wars (and even a few Firefly) references are all through the book. If you are a fan you are in for a treat!!

Kinsley is on her way to med school with a perfect GPA...except for one class: Astronomy.  After losing out on a tennis scholarship and admission to an Ivy League school for undergrad, she has to get an A in this class.  She has fought so hard to recover from a terrible accident caused by a drunk driver...even though no one believes her.  She is assigned a tudor who can hopefully help her get back to a perfect GPA - her bad luck continues when George Turner of all people shows up to help her.

George (AKA Big G) is a quiet guy who prefers to be left alone.  He has been through some trauma and finds keeping his mouth shut is the best way to move through life.  When he is assigned to help Kinsely, Miss can't stop talking, he is less than thrilled.

Their tutoring sessions don’t go so well…at first. They spend more time hating one another  than actually studying.

"You're a white hole....It's the opposite of a black hole.  Nothing gets in your brain.  You spew out whatever comes to your mind without a thought."

Kinsley and George, trying to outdo one another, start pranking each other back and forth, with the pranks continuing to escalate.  When Kinsely's tires are slashed and she is chased through a park she has had enough.  George swears it isn't him though.  If it's not George, is someone else out to get her?

Kinsley and George slowly start to get closer...maybe they don't hate each other after all?  George realizes he is connected to Kinsley's accident. With his ex-step mom blackmailing him, what will Kinsley do when she finds out?  Will she turn her back on him or will she help him?  If George has to decide between saving his family or saving Kinsley, who will he pick?

I had no idea how much I would love this book!!! Yes, I got all the spice that I was expecting plus a deeply emotional roller coaster. Kinsley and George are without a doubt one of my favorite couples ever. They had great banter and their chemistry was 🔥. They were both able to help each other start to heal from their traumas.

The most awkward cringe worthy three some ever happens in this book - I am telling you now, you aren’t ready for it!! (It is worse than Levi’s, and that is saying something.)

It is worth saying that there are some really difficult scenes in this book detailing abuse and trauma, but it is so important to recognize the damage that is done, and the way survivors are able to move forward. This book highlights how powerful believing a survivor is…both Kinsley and George dealt with trauma, but feeling like no one believed them made what they went through so much worse.

If you have zero triggers, and I do mean ZERO, there is an extended epilogue called Brown Bench. It is equal parts horrifying and diabolically amazing. You have been warned.

White Hole is almost two stories in one - we have two damaged characters massively let down by the adults in their lives especially their Father’s and we get to see how that has affected their current life, especially for the lead male character George who despite his large stature tries to carry the world on his shoulders and fails because it’s not his fault, and we have Kinsley who is trying to rebuild her life and seek closure following on from a massive accident which not only destroyed her future plans but also her relationship with her Dad. We also get to see them tackle the darkness and damage that their families have caused and that runs alongside their relationship interspersing the story with dark moments throughout.

Now as the book begins when George and Kinsley first meet they don’t like each other. They bicker and rile each other up, pranking each other and causing problems and it’s great to see that fun side of them because while juvenile it adds an element of lightness in what is otherwise a dark storyline. Unbeknownst to the two main characters their lives are already intertwined and as they become closer and move into a relationship the truth begins to unwind about just how linked their damage is to each other.

The author did a brilliant job of creating these two characters and they are both really likeable. Despite their differences such as size they worked really well together and both were very sexual beings who enjoyed Big G’s HDE and dirty mouth. I liked the way in which Kitty used each main characters POV to tell the story especially when it came to the abuse scenes it helped us to understand how the character was feeling and dealing with the things happening.

This is a lot darker and grittier than the previous two books in the series and whilst it features some amazing spicy scenes between the two main characters it also features some abuse scenes between one main character and another adult so I think it’s important to read the triggers before embarking on this book. Although it contains some harrowing content I do feel that the author did it a great justice talking about the emotional effects and not glamourising the content.

✨ARC Review✨

“You’re my North Star, princess. My guide. My anchor. I was wrong about you being a white hole. I’m the one whose heart explodes every time I’m near you. You sucked me in until I couldn’t escape your pull.”

This book!!! Wow, I’m still a little speechless. I went into it blind because I absolutely loved the first book in the series. My heart broke so many times for Big G and Kinsley. This gave me everything. I laughed so much, I wanted to cry for them, and definitely scream at one of the characters, and in the end, I was very happy.

Let’s get into this crazy ride!

Interesting conclusion to the series.

This book was somewhere in between the first two. Darker than book 2, but not as dark as book 1. Poor George has such a sad backstory. The snark and pranks between George and Kinsley was cute in the beginning. Then things got serious! But there is an HEA
