It's one of those strange stories that sounds like a bad dream someone had but it does have a sensible plot and some engaging characters. It was an enjoyable read. Like all self published stuff it had a few typos and it's written by someone in the UK so sometimes I don't know if it's a typo or just the way people talk. Anyway, I'm moving on to the second omnibus of the series. It's a pleasant, easy read for a horror aficionado.

Really enjoyed this book. The story is original and not overly borrowed. For some reason it reminded me of the Sci-Fi mini series "The Lost Room".
Just bought The Broken Lands and look forward to starting it soon.

This sucked me in and created a pretty vivid world, I thought. A pleasant surprise after a bunch of failed free downloads.

I was given a complimentary copy of the book for review. I must say it was quite original I don't believe I have ever read anything quite like it before.
A man awakens in a strange place, isn't even sure if he is indoors or out, or how he came to be there. No food, no water, and strange creatures the likes of which have never been seen anywhere else. Very original and imaginative. I was pleased to learn there will be more to come, since this is the first book in a series.

This was a different story than what I have read before. It was an interesting concept and kept me hooked for most of the story. There was a little bit of repetition and seemed a little slow sometimes but it always left me curious for more.

A little rough around the edges, editing-wise, but absolutely amazing for a self-published book. Great start to a great series.
Reread November 2021: Bumping my review from 4 stars to 5 because it's not often I keep coming back to stories like this. This book lives rent free in my head and always will; it's become a comfort read, even with it's flaws. It has heart and some cool ideas, and I really like it. I don't even remember how it got put on my Kindle the first time I read it, I'm guessing it was through BookBub but I don't remember. Regardless, it's books like these that make me happy self-publishing is a thing.

I don't remember when or how I got this book, but I'm glad I did.
While the story had a few minor editing problems, the story was so good that I barely even noticed. From the very beginning, I was completely hooked. The main character is so believable, that even in this land of nightmarish fantasy I was able to relate.
Every chapter had me guessing and wanting more. My only complaint is that the end came so quickly, which I felt was strange considering the rest of the novel had a very leisurely pace to it.
I'll definitely be looking for the next one.
