Easy to read. Enjoyed the romance.
This has an accidental pregnancy which I'm a little iffy on that trope now, part of me doesn't mind it. After all its a legit thing that happens but also its frustrating to read. Does that make sense??
I liked both characters they're fiery toward each other and this was just addicting to read.

'A thrilling insight into a world of red-tape and regulation, toeing the line between temptation and professionalism. A captivating read that is certainly not a mistake . Paging all good readers, the doctor will see you now
Thank you to Greys Promotions for sending me an ebook Advanced Reader's Copy for me to read and review. Here is my honest review of Doctor Mistake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Well, where do I start with this novel? I initially picked it up because I'm a sucker for the 'accidental pregnancy' trope, it's always a fun time to see how that accidental pregnancy came to be, and its been the longest time since I've read a novel within the medical field so...putting those two together, I had a feeling that this was going to be a story that I knew I was going to enjoy before I even turned the first page.
It was a while before that particular trope turned up, but that only gave way to the story developing before that pivotal moment happened.
Creative liberty was pushed to the max with Doctor Mistake--in a good way, of course--, as with the beauty of fiction, it can be twisted and tailored to how the author wants the story to go. This is what has been done by J.Saman here. Without dipping into the tempting pool of spoilers, you'll know the moments when reading them, where those self-same moments can only be allowed within the confines of a fiction novel. I can't imagine intimate moments of any kind would be acceptable in the real world, but I thoroughly enjoyed--and bit my lip at several occasions--when these taboo moments happened and applauded J.Saman for including them.
Sometimes it's a good thing, more than a good thing, to taste the forbidden fruit.
Now, for something new that I don't usually include in reviews. A spoiler-free rating system!
Romance: 7.5/10
Suspense: 8.5/10
Romantic suspense: 8/10
Steaminess: 8/10
Angst: 9.5/10
Gripping storyline: 9.5/10
Ta-da!
Overall for my first J.Saman read, I'm really pleased that this was such a gripping read--with me finishing it in under 24 hours--, I'm able to leave a glowing review and would recommend this novel to anyone looking to sink their teeth into what could be their next favourite read.
I would willingly jump back into this series and the world J.Saman has created for it and its characters. Without a doubt.
4.5/5 stars!

O.M.G!!!!! Carter+Grace are AMAZING!!!! Hottness overload!!! I loved their book so much and watching Grace overcome her barriers to get to Carter. Ugh, such a good book. One of those that I wish I could read for the first time again, just so I could love them more. I need more of Carter+Grace!

Medical romance isnāt normally my favorite theme, but with J. Samam? Iām all in. Doctor Mistake is so well done and filled with unrequited love, vulnerability, sweetness, and a whole lot of steaminess. Itās absolutely not to be missed.
Carter is one of the Fritz brothers, which essentially means heās charming, attractive, and a gifted doctor. Grace is Carterās little brotherās best friend since forever, and sheās also a resident under his supervision at the hospital. When the book begins, Grace is engaged to someone that turns out to be not at all what she thought he was, and Carter has been pining for her for a long time. Very soon though, Graceās relationship status changes unexpectedly, and Grace and Carter find themselves becoming more than just two people who have always known one another and work together. This book takes us from Grace being engaged to another man to Carter and Grace having a very different relationship than what theyāre used to with each other and then eventually much more.
Grace and Carter are wonderfully constructed, and Iām in love with these characters! Grace is so loveable and vulnerable and passionate about her lifeās work as an OBGYN, and Carter is the talented doctor whose feelings for Grace are undeniable and so heartwarming to see coming from an alpha-type character. Despite them always being in each otherās lives, their new and developing relationship is navigated with so much care and sweetness and plenty of angst, which is just fun to see unfold. I had trouble putting this book down from the start, since their relationship had a lot of growing to do and I needed to see how it all evolved.
The drama in this book really works, too. Sure, thereās enough of it between Carter and Grace, but there are also external issues that complicate their being together. For me, those added another layer of depth to the story. Saman takes what could be a pretty cut and dry romance and weaves in outside forces that must be dealt with together by the main characters, which in my opinion adds to the strength of the book.
This is a thoughtfully written romance complete with all the angst and charm you could want. This book is a must read, and Iām really looking forward to the next book in the series.
