I love the concept - a sort of extended fictional biography - but I really wish this were longer and more fleshed out. Sumptuous imagery and language in parts.

me reading books with minimal plot and character description so i imagine all of the characters as the celebrities i currently find attractive:

Although an intriguing concept, I couldn’t immerse myself in the book and didn’t really enjoy it. The idea of reading from the perspective of someone with whom I have no information to make any sort of connection wit and who gives painfully little information about how they connect with the subject of their narration, made it difficult to engage with the text as a reader. It was like I was reading a bio in a food magazine, without any eye-catching pictures of tasty dishes. While I enjoyed the descriptions of food, it all seemed plot-less and passive despite the quality and lyricism of of the writer’s style.
