Magic was a multi-use tool, like a Swiss Army knife that could be used to cut or saw or magnify.

What a cool book story! And what a rollercoaster at the end. Loved it. One of the best books I’ve read in a few years.

Adventure? Check! Great characters? Check! Emotional? Check! Fun? Check!

I can’t wait to the read the third and final book.

Great sequel to [b:The Strangeworlds Travel Agency|46123742|The Strangeworlds Travel Agency (Strangeworlds Travel Agency #1)|L.D. Lapinski|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1579194289l/46123742._SY75_.jpg|71048880]. Loved the sea setting with all the pirates and sea creatures. Generally, the destruction of the Break works very well as an allegory for the destruction of our own planet and I loved seeing these themes of environmentalism interwoven into the narrative. Avery is a great addition to the cast; it was enjoyable to watch Flick work out what she thought of her and finally come to a super sweet conclusion. It was also sweet to see how Flick handled Jonathon grappling with his grief. And then that reveal about Flick's heritage at the end: nicely done! and I'm looking forward to the role this will play in future books.
