That was an exciting adventure and I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters, action, pacing and storyline made another epic fantasy series.

While the ending was great with the characters having an ending that was well earned- I will admit, I felt a little bad for one the characters and I think they deserved little better conclusion than what they got. I think they probably earned it the most actually.

Reading this book it felt like Shannon tried to shove all the things she discovered about her world into this one single last instalment. We learned so many new things, go to know new characters and everything just…. exploded.

It felt like she, by writing this book, discovered so much more about the story she wanted to tell. But knowing she only had one book left, she tried to shove it all into one.

Then she also did decide to add a 50 pages wrap up. Which for me, is way too long.

A good book, but I do think that, for the series as a whole, all the information and plot points could’ve been divided better.

Steady pace that picks up to a feverish beat in the last 150 pages or so. Amazing conclusion to this dazzling series

I really enjoyed this book a lot. Especially the second half of the book once everything started to happen.
Beautiful worldbuilding, magic system, characters and plot! And a little bit of romance. There were a few plot twists as well. I really liked the ending and the alternate ending as well.

All in all a good series filled with magic, djinns, politics and different cultures set in a beautiful world with great characters. If you like those things I highly recommend reading this series!

This is one of the most satisfying conclusion to a trilogy I have ever read. Soooooooo goooood.
I would read more from this world without a doubt.

I know I put three stars, but it’s a strong three stars!

At times this book seemed endless. But when I went two days without reading the book I soon knew that I would miss my Daevas.

Spoiler
Here’s five thoughts:
1. The end of the ‘war’ was a bit rushed for me comparing the build up.
2. All I can say is that I saw the Dara’s leaving coming, but it still broke me nonetheless.
3. I am so not team Ali, in-fact I found him annoying almost all the time.
4.liked the alternative epilogue with Zaynab, Aqisa and Dara.
5. Manizheh going nuts was also easy to predict.

Honestly, I’m not sure if I will be returning to this series.
