I tried to get into the book but it just didn't hold my attention. I really wanted to like it which is why I kept going but eventually it felt more like a chore than I enjoying it.

The action was fast paced, but some parts of the book were hard to get through. I enjoyed the book overall, but felt like some parts needed to be slowed down and given more time to develop. If you like Greek mythology, action, and don't mind some heavy themes you would enjoy this book.

If you are looking for a truly unique Greek mythology inspired book, this is for you. I loved the FMC as well as Hermes, more than anything. They were just so heart-warming!? There was a larger plot that was explored pretty quickly into the book so you didn't have to wait with delayed action or anything of the sort. I have read the first 3 in this series now and cannot wait for the last 2!

Good story, bad writing

Loved the plot and characters
The writing was clumsy, had unnecessary high dollar words and was sometimes hard to follow. Pretty sure I saw some typos too. One good editor and this is an easy 5 star.

Read if you like-
✔️ Percy Jackson and the Olympians
✔️ Gladiator vibes
✔️ Greek mythology
✔️ Titans and gods
✔️ Romantasy
✔️ Dystopia
✔️ Angsty
✔️ Betrayals

In a time when the world has fallen and the Greek gods have enslaved human society, with no demigods to exist; a girl is being prepared to be sold in the arena to these immortals. Humans are nothing but property to them, until that one girl who comes into play, who bleeds crimson and ichor.

The plot is really interesting and the way it is written is really beautiful. I personally would say it is written way better than The Song of Achilles. The story is easy to follow, until the epilogue, idk what happened there. Also, the concept of three loves and being plagued by them that even the gods fear it, was really interesting.

The mythology part is easy to understand, my inner Percy Jackson fan was so into it. It definitely has a dark tone to it. Tho I did feel the lack of quests and action overall. So if you're expecting it to be action packed and the characters always having something to do- don't.

There are few things that could've been better, apart from including action scenes. I believe the pacing could have been worked on, it is really slow especially in the second half, the first half of the book is unputdownable. Then the FMC could've been written in a more confident nature.

The FMCs name wasn't revealed until page 182, I won't reveal it either cause the author obviously intended it to be a mystery aspect. There's a whole story attached to it. Her personality came across as bland and dumb, lacking a fair bit of common sense. Look, I get that the conditions she's coming from and her situation did not help her develop properly but when she first stood up to Hecate in the beginning, I thought she would at least be bold. But she wasn't, she was extremely vulnerable throughout the book, always depending on someone to come save her. But she was getting some training, so hopefully we'll see her be confident and brave in the second book.

Coming to other characters, Epiales and Hermes- both were interesting and good as "love interests". There were some really beautiful scenes written with the two. Tho I lean towards Epiales more, cause me likes grey characters

This book got better and better with each page! There was so many twists and turns that I didn't know what was going to happen next. The ending was a huge cliffhanger but definitely has me wanting to know what is going to happen next. This is just superb writing and I loved it so much!

Greek mythology retellings have me in a CHOKEHOLD. As sweet as Hermes is, my vote is on Ares. I wanted to give this 4 stars for the last 3/4 of the book but I had to keep in mind the first half and the lack of plot

Good idea, but poor writing. Main character grew up in a prison had no education but the writing style uses big words. Seems like we picked up a thesaurus and used all big words we could find... even if we didn't understand the meaning.

For fans of Scarlett St. Clair!

This was such a refreshing spin on the classic stories of Greek Gods and Goddesses. Saffron’s story holds its own next to the old stories we know and love.

I’ve read a lot of retellings and was pleasantly surprised to see Hermes be our possible love interest instead of the, now wildly popular choice, Hades.

This was a fun quick read with several twists I didn’t see coming. Saffrons story unfolds organically and she is a female main character that is easy to root for! I’m looking forward to the second book!

I went into this series knowing very very little about it! But I can say I am hooked! I can’t wait to see what happens next. Everything is starting to make more sense!
