When I started this book I did not know it was the sequel to Deep End of the Ocean. This book disappoints on many levels. Grammar errors abound, the paragraphs jump ideas so much that I had to constantly re-read in order to figure out the train of thought. I'm not sure why this book was written, but save yourself the trouble. Sorry, Ms. Mitchard, this just didn't work.

I enjoyed The Deep End of the Ocean, but this sequel didn't work for me. I found the circumstances unbelievable and I wasn't that interested in the story.

While I did not enjoy this book as much as it's prior book, I liked finding out what happened to this family as Ben grew up. I liked seeing how his kidnapping had affected not only him, but all memebers of his family.

Eh. The original book ("The Deep End of the Ocean") didn't need a sequel, and the premise for this one is preposterously ridiculous. The ending - as in, the last four pages - were good, though.

The prequel was much better. This book besides telling you what happened to the family, seemed detached, rushed, and unrealistic.

Enjoyable, gripping, a bit long, a good knitting book.

I won this book as a FirstReads giveaway. When I saw it on the list, I knew I had to enter! Even after 10 years or so, The Deep End of the Ocean sticks out as a book I loved. But, I always wondered what happened to the Cappadoras. In No Time to Wave Goodbye, we get to find out.

Vince has grown up to be a filmmaker, and his first big film is a documentary about 5 families that are going through what his family has - a child has been kidnapped, but these families are still waiting for their loved ones to come home. The film is critically acclaimed, and just as the Cappadoras are celebrating Vince's (and Ben/Sam's and Kerry's - since they helped with the film) triumph, tragedy strikes the family again. Their bonds, still fragile even after 22 years, are strained to the breaking point. Ultimately, they must join together to survive a dangerous race for time in the California mountains.

This is a quick read, because you just can't put it down!

A good follow up to The Deep End of the Ocean. Catches up with the Cappadora family 10 years after the first book left off.
