As dust dances is another 5+ star read by Samantha Young. It gave me all the feels with this love/hate relationship between Skylar and Killian.

Samantha gives us another strong heroine in Skylar. She has a strong will to not make the same mistakes a second time. Skylar is living a life full of heartache, and has so much love to give to the right person. Killian is dealing with his own issues and trying to hide his feelings for Skylar. His possessiveness of Skylar keeps coming through. The banter and chemistry between them is off the charts.

This is a story of healing from a tragic loss on both sides. It has just blown me away. Skylar shows everyone her amazing soul and her healing through her song lyrics/music. This is a must read that will have you falling in love with Skylar and Killian from the start.

I liked this book. Skylar was busking for money - homeless - her situation was self-imposed to get away from the fame, but it was still sad. I got teary, that's for sure.

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

My heart broke for Skylar, but goodness how I cheered her on as she strove to create a whole new life for herself, devoid of all the trappings her old one had--and trappings is a more than apt word since she felt shackled and miserable. When Killian came into her life, especially knowing that he was an A&R executive for the top record label in Scotland, I worried and wondered about the direction the story would take. Of course, I should have trusted that Young knew what she was doing. She didn't give what would have been expected; instead, she gave a story that highlighted the resilience that people have when they take necessary risks and the sacrifices one makes in the name of true love. As Dust Dances is the second in a series, but can be read as a standalone. Five-plus stars. ♥

Absolutely stunning! The writing is poetic and breathtaking. I was so swept away by this story. The characters are so well developed and I loved the progression of their story. The pacing was great and I could not put this book down. I love Samantha Young's writing and this was definitely high on my list of favorites by her. I can't wait to read more.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

As Dust Dances is the second novel in Play On series by Samantha Young. Although it's book 2 in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Play On series has unrelated characters, only connected with the theme of "Arts Industry", which is so cool in my opinion. Also all stories setting are in Scotland.

Skylar Finch can't really handle the fame of being a famous pop-rock star. One day, when a bad tragedy happened in her life, she ran from her band and disappear for a long time. The story start with Skylar being homeless and alone. Until she meets Killian O'Dea. An Artist & Repertoire Executive from a label in Glasgow.

The first half of the story mostly flashback to what happened to Skylar before she fled from everyone of her past. This is when Killian and Skylar get to know each other and build great connection. However, due to their situation, they can't really have a love relationship. Forbidden romance? Yes, please!

The romance between Skylar & Killian is a slow-burn, and the build-up is just so amazing. The sexual tension between them just making me crazy, and when it happens it's so perfect and beautifully emotional.

"I love you. I love you more than I love anyone."

I love the relationship portrayed between Skylar and her mom, Angie. Every time Skylar talk about her mom, I can't help but to shed some tears. I can really feel all the sadness that Skylar went through, I am sad for her, for what happened to her & her mom. I have a soft spot for a mother-father-daughter relationship in a book, it gives me all the feels.

All in all, I loved As Dust Dances! I adored Skylar & Killian. I would recommend this book to all the people who read romances. I also loved that this book remind us that no matter how lost we are, we can always find our way back.

"You started out with a pure, whole soul and life took hits at it. It charred it, bruised it, and sometimes even smashed it to dust. But there were ways to hold on to it and to even piece it back together in new ways. To add patches of light to a shadowy bruise, to stitch a crack with a little thread of joy."

There is a minor trigger warning for rape in this book.

Thank you to InkSlinger PR & Samantha Young for providing a copy for an honest review.

A true five-star-read!!!!! I fell in love with this unique story and was immediately captured by the characters. This book will stay with me for a long time and is joining the ranks of my all-time favorites. The pacing was perfect and the single POV made the slow burn that much more satisfying when they got together. Even though declarations happened 3/4 of the way into the book, there was still a believable conflict with the MMC and some uncertainty on his priorities - this helped keep my interest until the very end. The plot in this book stands on its own, even without the romance, making the book incredibly captivating. And the romance… no words! So much angst! The ending was perfection. Can’t say enough good things about this story. Obsessed!

Skylar Finch, is an ex pop-rockstar who fled from her life as a successful singer in America, to live on the streets of Glasgow. She was barely getting by busking her way through the days, when Killian O'Dea rediscovered her special talent. He wanted to take her under contract and promised her a different life. But Skylar doesn't want to be a star anymore, all she wants to do is make music, without all the fame and publicity that coems with it.

I've always been a big fan of Samantha Youngs book, and this one is no exception.
I love her style and how she brings the characters and all the places in the book to live.
Like the "On Dublin Street" Series, As Dust Dances plays in Scottland and I'm really curious to see all the places she wrote about. Samantha Young has a way of bringing feelings to live, and I have to admit that I shared some tears reading this book.

Definitely worth reading!
