This didn't so much end as just stop. Fortunately, I've very late finishing this series so I could get the next book straight away.

Arthur's adventures just keep getting better and better, in my opinion. With only Sunday left to conquer now, I'll have to say goodbye to this character!
Nix was brilliant in describing the Tower, the Grease Monkeys, the Automatons, and other colorful scenes that made this kingdom of Superior Saturday feels like a steampunk world.
I enjoyed how Arthur is at peace with himself now, no longer struggling with holding on to his humanity, but has resigned himself to being a denizen of the house. Also, this means he can use the keys more often, which is always cool.
This book ended really leaving the reader on a cliffhanger. Not only was Arthur in a dangerous situation near the end, but Leaf and his town on Earth is in peril too. How will Arthur save everyone? I can't wait to find out.

This book fairly good however it didn't really add much to the plot. To me, it just felt like a filler for book 7.

...I remember almost nothing that happened in this book except that Superior Saturday had electric blue hair and I wanted her to have way more character development ever since Drowned Wednesday mentioned being friends with her in book 3

This is the sixth book in The Keys to the Kingdom series. If you haven't read the others, you shouldn't start with this one because it won't make sense. This is probably the weakest book in the series. Still worth reading, but not as strong as some that have come before.
It's a relief to see Arthur accepting what has become his destiny. No longer eschewing magic in an effort to remain human and embracing what needs to be done to save his world and the people he cares for makes him a more sympathetic reluctant hero, rather than a whiner. It also allows him to act more decisively, very helpful when trying to rescue your loved ones.
The rich world details that typically make up Nix's work were lacking in this installment. The things that don't make sense (Arthur's battle with his internal Denizen, how a country could justify nuking a hospital at the center of a plague) are never explained in a satisfactory way (if at all). We also have what feels like a very artificial cliffhanger at the end. I confess I'm concerned with the number of loose ends Nix has to tidy up for the final book to be truly satisfying. Having read his Old Kingdom series, I know he can do it, but not if he writes it the way he wrote this one.

Very similar to previous books in a different thematic setting. Intrigued to find out how the story ends

I was on vacation when I read this and blazed through it in a single day. It was very engaging and the plot twists and thickens and all that. The series barely felt like it was coming to a close. But, you could see some of the more long term strings being neatly tied up, or twist in unexpected directions.
This was one of my favorites of the series. Quick, easy and engaging.

These silly YA books are so fun and I’m excited to finally be about to finish the series over a decade after starting them! 6 down 1 to go!
