This is a classic easy reader book about a bear looking for a new hat. It's a fun and quick read.

This was a cute, funny book. The bear tried on so many different hats, but none were just right.
My daughter thought this book was funny and loved some of the hats that the bear tried on.
This is a good book for younger kids. They’ll probably get a laugh from it.

A bear is trying on a pile of hats and driving the shopkeeper crazy by rejecting them for every reason under the sun. I loved the pictures of the frustrated bear and the irritated shopkeeper! Kids will love this one.

One of my favorites for a first reader. My daughter loved this book as a toddler and still enjoys it at ten. It never gets old.

Like I've mentioned before I don't remember details of the books I read as a kid, just that I read them. So I'm rereading as many as I can get my hands on with Eli so that I can post my thoughts now with the fact that I've read them.
The illustrations in this one were more detailed than any of the other Berenstain books we've read so far and Eli really reacted well to that. While the words were still simple and the book was short, he seemed to enjoy it anyway, repeating the words and following along. I really think it's helped with learning to read and I'm appreciative of that.
Overall of the series we've reread so far this is my favorite because of the reaction it got from Eli.
It's simple and short, but it has many repetitive words to help with memorization and it's silly enough to keep young preschool-age children entertained.
