Really enjoyed this book. Was hooked almost immediately and stayed hooked until the end. I did see the "surprise" coming, but still would recommend this books to mystery novel fans.

Started out quite slow and dreary. I wasn’t really at all invested in Riley. It took nearly half of the book for it to start really getting interesting.

In the end, the story came together really well, although here are still some questions.

Fairly predictable at some point, but still an interesting and engaging story.

Although a few spots dragged, I really enjoyed it. Lots of twists and turns, though I must admit, I guessed the "big shocker" vey early in the book. This did not ruin the ending, though. Nothing less that what I would expect from Chamberlain, who I secretly adore hehe.

I read this one for book club and really enjoyed it. While it is not exactly a mystery in the 'whodunnit' style, there is definitely an air of mystery to the story. There are a few things you know from the the prologue. Riley has grown-up believing her older sister killed herself after shooting a man. The synopsis tells us that sister Lisa is still alive. What we don't know is where she is or why she killed. We find this out by the end of the story, and getting there is an entertaining story.
Some of the story is predictable—maybe. Why did Lisa kill? I guessed that right, but it was just one possible guess. I guessed some of the other outcomes, too, but those involve spoilers. There were enough 'red herrings' there to make me question some of my guesses, and to make me want to keep reading.
I did really enjoy the story, but there were a couple of loose ends for me. Though there was an epilogue with a happy ending, the happy ending was a little rushed and not terribly realistic. I'm not sure that the happy ending can stick. Among other things, Tom and Verniece just kind of disappeared from the story after and tense incident with Riley. I'm not sure they would really go away quietly, and they certainly had the capability to destroy the happy ending.

Despite the loose ends, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to discussing it with my book club. If you are looking for a quick read with discussion value, take a look at The Silent Sister!

Good read, I would have ended it different. It seems that the lie continued. I need closure.

4.5 stars from me. This was my first book by this author and I must say I really enjoyed it! I really liked all of the characters and the story was a great one as well. I thought the story and characters both we well developed. It flowed nicely and I loved the twists. I will be looking into reading more by Diane!

I enjoyed the story. It kept me interested from the first page! I loved how the book portrays siblings and how different they are different, how they view their parents differently, and can pretty much have a completely different childhood and worldview.
