Many of the chapters are standard Chomsky fare, but there are some especially mind-blowing chapters about Palestine as well as new details that have come out fairly recently about our massacres of peasants in Laos and Cambodia. If I remember the quote from Congressional testimony correctly, the reason we randomly decided to slaughter a bunch of peasants in Laos and Cambodia as target practice was because we had a ceasefire agreement with the Vietcong at the time and "we had all these planes ready to go, just sitting there... Our boys were getting restless."

What can I say about Noam Chomsky, perhaps the most well-known, widely-published US anarchist in generations? This book of essays is similar to every book and every essay that I have read by Mr Chomsky. Dense, at times confusing, sarcastic, and loaded full of information. No theories were expounded upon, but new information was presented to me in a nice way.

I hope Noam never dies!

This was the first of Noam Chomsky's books I've read, and I thoroughly enjoyed his deep dive into what I would term the hypocrisy of the United States, and the destruction they've caused around the world. I gave it 3 stars because I found it a bit hard to follow, and there seemed to be some repetition talking about the same examples multiple times. However it was an interesting listen and refreshing in that it showed that maybe the US isn't the best, greatest, etc. country in the world as is so often said.

he is a very clever man, very interesting unpicking of the pure hypocrisy of american actions, and posed lots of interesting questions that made me think. however, just felt poorly edited and organised, jumping between different topics and arguments and repeating things a lot, and just not particularly engaging writing for a lot of it - had to concentrate a lot
