Good series but I feel...

I liked this series a lot!! I liked the world building, magic felt different. I really liked Sage and her group of people.

The third book had more editing issue then the first two. Felt a little rushed to production to me. Also although not a cliffhanger this series should not be complete. We do not see the evil group taken down, or what happens with Sage and her parents or what they learn at the new academy.

I would read the next book because I like the series just surprised the series ends with so much left in the air.

that felt like a non cliffy cliffhanger

Maybe there was too much going on? Unless there's a spinoff series.... There are still so many unanswered things. this feels like part of it. The book does have some oopsies... but few, and the story is well put together. Incredibly slow burn but it had so much going on that you don't focus on the half sexy times.

I could have forgiven the atrocious editing because I like the characters and the premise so much, but the story was left completely unfinished. It was classed as a trilogy and it feels like the author just gave up in order to end it.

Very upset with this series. More plot holes editing errors and mixing up the names of the main characters. The plot just doesn't make sense and is all over the place. They were building up the smut for 3 books then it happens in the end and is extremely anti-climatic.

3.5 stars...

I have to say I'm disappointed I love, love Parmenter's Home series and the first two books of this series. They're something different, a different take and fairly interesting. I had been waiting and waiting for this release but it just fell flat...

Now I understand the author had a bunch of personal shit going on in her life and so it was a struggle to release this book however, I would have happily waited another 2 to 3 months for the final book to hit the marks the first two did and now I'm scared for book 3 in the Home series.

I can normally overlook minor grammar and punctuation errors etc. However, when they're on almost every page, words missing, wrong words put in place of others, sentences completely not making sense even after 3 attempts it's quite frustrating.

I felt a lot of the "speech" throughout the book was unrealistic and forced not many people say "thus" and "it is" (instead of its) or other formal speech. A lot of it would have been better as inner thoughts but that would have left the dialogue missing so it seemed like filler content.

In terms of actual content. Not much happened in this book at all. They passed through a portal travelled for a few days - had one fight - a few make out sessions and then the final "big lead up scene" there was barely a confrontation at all it was in and out in three point two seconds. For a mission that left dozens of highly trained personnel dead a bunch of complete novices got in and out with literally no hitch...

I know that the author is planning this as a similar structure to a TV series but even then if I considered this "Season 1 finale" I'd be disappointed. I just ordered the paperbacks of the first two books of Home and now I'm grateful I didn't add these to my cart because this book had I received it in paperback as is I'd of been pissed which makes me nervous for Twisted Compications...

I have so many questions, I need the next book. I loved all three books and would love to hear Erin‘s or Cole‘s story, too.
