I love a great Jiffy Kate romance for so many reasons. Without fail, they deliver passionate romances that make me experience a full range of emotions. I have to admit, though, that I was hesitant to review The Setup and The Substitute when I learned it was a single-dad romance. Kids in romance books are usually something that I avoid...it's just not my jam. I am happy to say that Jiffy Kate delivered such an enjoyable romance that they made me like the kids! What?!! Molly and Ryan were so adorable and I am so glad I took a chance on this book. Owen and Sophia have some big issues to overcome in order to have a relationship, and it took having honest conversations to make it happen. I really loved seeing their relationship evolve from instant attraction to a deep, all-consuming love for one another. With a great secondary cast, the friendships in this book shined and I really hope we get to read more stories about this wonderful cast of characters.

It’s cute. It’s easy to connect to the characters and get a sense of their personality. I like the pinch of drama we get. I wish we got to see their babies.

There is nothing more swoony than a single dad, unless it’s a Jiffy Kate single dad!! My word, the way these two write is just a breath of fresh air. I just can’t seem to stop reading their books!!

Sophie is the baby of her large political family and is trying to make her own way on her own terms. By a twist of fate, she finds herself as a nanny to two amazing kids with a hotter than hot dad who has so many walls put up he doesn’t know what to do with this smart, strong woman who is now a daily part of his life.

Take this journey with Sophie and Owen, fall in love with these two, and with Owen’s kids and of course your love for New Orleans is only going to grow!

I love these Revelers! I love Jiffy Kate! And I seriously need to go to New Orleans!!!

The Setup and the Substitute is the 3rd book in the New Orleans Revelers series by writing duo Jiffy Kate. It’s quintessential Jiffy Kate, so you’ll get plenty of laughs, plenty of heart, and plenty of steam. I also love that they bring locations from other series they’ve written into it; like all of their characters from all their books fit into one big Jiffy Kate universe.

Sophie is a strong female character who comes from a wealthy family, but wants to live life on her own terms. She wants to do what she loves instead of follow in her family’s footsteps. She’s the perfect nanny choice since she’s Owen’s daughter Molly’s substitute teacher and already has a good relationship with her.

Owen is a sweet, single dad who wants what’s best for his kids. He and his kids have been abandoned by his ex and with him traveling for work, he just wants his kids to have some stability.

There’s a really sweet meet-cute, involving the kids, and it’s hard not to fall in love with all involved.

I love that we get cameos from the first two books. Ross, known mostly from book #2, The Ace and The Assistant, is a series favorite for me and I’m so happy we got to see a lot from him. He really is worthy of captain status. I love how supportive he is to Owen and his relationship to Sophie.

Overall, this was a sweet, easy to read romance. I read it pretty much in one go, and you really can’t go wrong with Jiffy Kate.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Greer and Mack in book #4.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

5 STARS! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A swoony baseball playing single dad.
A sweet substitute teacher turned nanny.
Two adorable little kids.

This book was so great. I loved it from start to finish. The relationship between Sophie & the two kiddos was beautiful. The dynamic between Owen and Sophie was absolute fire.

There were definitely times I wanted to shake Owen in this one, but thankfully he got his act together. LOL

I highly recommend this book.

The next book in the Reverlers Series and it did not disappoint. Owen, baseball playing single dad, can't find a nanny in his new town. Enter Sophie, his daughters substitute who he is instantly drawn to. I loved how this all came together. Owen's kids are a sweet addition to the story and even though he travels for games he is 100% present awesome dad when home which is so swoony.
I loved this story and it made me want to do a reread of the prior 2 books.
