De gevangene van de Hemel is wederom een mooi boek in het vierluik Het Kerkhof der Vergeten Boeken. Het is voor mij (en dat blijft denk ik ook) het deel van de vier dat het minst doet met mij, maar het zegt al heel als de zwakste al een sterrencijfer van 4,5/5 behaald. Ik vind het leuk dat we een lang intermezzo krijgen van hoe Fermin zijn geschiedenis is gegaan en hoe die zich weer verbindt met Daniel en David Martin Zafón weet wederom de menselijke emoties, zoals affectie, jaloezie en wraak goed neer te zetten en zinspeelt op een kostelijk einde voor zijn indrukwekkende vierluik in Het labyrint der geesten, dat ik zo snel mogelijk ga pakken uit mijn persoonlijke bibliotheek.
Ik raad dit boek aan aan mensen die van gotische fictie en mystery houden, fan zijn van de vorige twee boeken in dit vierluik of een boek wil hebben met referenties naar Dumas' De Graaf van Montecristo.

Great instalment in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series. Brought back all the information from the last books with a great mystery. Handled the moving between characters and time frames well and always drags you straight into a gothic, historical Barcelona. Loved it and equally can’t wait to read the last one, but don’t want to read it so the series isn’t over!

Gostei de saber mais de Fermín e de acompanhar mais de perto a sua história. Livro muito bem escrito, como só Zafón sabia escrever. Um talento enorme.

This has been my favorite so far in the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series.
The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series is 4 books and 1 novella that are stand alone stories but also weave together. They can be read in any order but I am reading them in publication order.
Shadow of the Wind was good, but I hated Angel's Game. The story didn't make sense. The Prisoner of Heaven weaves the first two stories together and actually answered some of the questions I had about Angel's Game. I think Angel's game would have been better if I read it after The Prisoner of Heaven.
I found Zafon's language and descriptions to be simpler than Shadow of the wind. I am looking forward to see how the story continues to unfold and weave all the books together.

Es difícil hacer una reseña de libros tan buenos y tan diferente de la misma serie literaria y del gran Carlos Ruiz Zafón, este es "el" libro de Fermín Romero de Torres y es tan bueno como los dos anteriores libros pero de nuevo Carlos Ruiz Zafón demuestra lo camaleón que puedo ser y de la enorme capacidad para crear personajes que se salen del libro. Es un libro breve respecto a los otros dos pero igual de atrapante y fascinante.
En el juego del ángel quedaron tantas preguntas y en este libro no se responden todas y eso hace que la serie literaria sea adictiva, en este libro se entrelazan los dos primeros libros, se revelan secretos, personajes que son "antagónicos"
De nuevo una prosa magistral que mezcla la literatura clásica y contemporánea, un ritmo más casual donde al fin sabemos la conmovedora historia de Fermín. Algo hay en esta tercera entrega del cementerio de los libros olvidados que me hizo sentir mucho más que en los otros dos.

Not sure how I missed this when reading the series. It now makes sense on why I felt like I had missed something when I read the last book The Labyrinth of the Spirits. This series is excellent. I will be reading it again in the future.

Ancora ricordo quando, a 19 anni, lessi per la prima volta L'ombra del Vento, il primo capitolo di questa tetralogia. Rimasi affascinata dalla storia, dalle ambientazioni tetre e da quel pizzico di horror che ci trovai dentro. Diventò uno dei miei libri preferiti, più che altro perché legato a un periodo e a delle sensazioni a cui ancora oggi mi sento affezionata.
Il prigioniero del cielo in qualche modo mi ha fatto ritornare con la testa proprio in quel pezzetto della mia vita.
Riconosco che oggi, a distanza di 10 anni, sono un'altra persona, ho letto moltissimi libri sicuramente di un livello più alto rispetto a Zafón, eppure in queste pagine mi sono ritrovata. Mi sono proprio accomodata dentro con plaid e tisanina, e mi sono persa nella storia di Daniel, la libreria Sempere e il cimitero dei libri dimenticati, il tutto annebbiato da questa atmosfera grigia e polverosa che caratterizza i romanzi di Zafón. Sicuramente continuerò a leggere il quarto e ultimo capitolo di questa saga, perché è veramente una coccola che ogni tanto mi voglio regalare.
