While this is a short read (50 pages), 'Like Unto Moroni' shows us how we can live a life like Moroni. Using the war chapters as a reference, the authors share characteristics that make Moroni one of the greatest military leaders of 'Book of Mormon' scripture, as well as the characteristics that make him a wonderful disciple of Christ. When we apply these principles to our own lives, we can be as the scripture (Alma 48:17) says "like unto Moroni" and "the devil shall never have power over the hears of the children of men."

The “law of the harvest,” and . . . the “sweat of the brow.” These are not idle phrases. Instead, they underscore the importance of work. In fact, . . . work is always a spiritual necessity.

This is just one great quote from this book. I really enjoyed this book. Moroni should be who everyone emulates their life after. He was amazing man, Father and leader in every way. This book highlights the many things from his life that are in the Book of Mormon and insight from general authorities who have spoken about him. The word flow in this book is wonderful. It is a book you can reference back to over and over again. There is an amazing spurt to this book!

Thanks to the Authors and Covenant Communications for a copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my very own.

I always look forward to non-fiction Christian reads and was excited to get my hands on this title! As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ I’ve always admired the faith of Moroni. There were so many great tidbits to pull from this book. I found this book very relatable to our day and always enjoy applying scriptural teachings to my life. One of my favorite sections in the book discussed that If you have to face opposition, you might as well be prepared,

I loved the attention to detail and supporting material all neatly combined in this book. This was a shorter book, but one that I will go back to often!

Thanks to the publisher for a copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

I read this little 50-page beauty in one sitting and boy oh boy am I gonna have to read it again. It feels more like a gospel scholarly essay than a book, but it taught some great lessons nonetheless. I loved studying The Book of Mormon for Come Follow Me at home last year and I distinctly remember the lessons we had about Captain Moroni. He was an incredible example of faith, courage, and perseverance to his people. People loved him, they looked to him as a beacon of hope. Even though he knew this, he was still humble enough to take his decisions to the prophet Alma, as well as to the Lord himself before acting.
The prophet Mormon said, "if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men." I echo the same sentiments for women as well. If women stood for and portrayed the same traits as Moroni, the world would be a little kinder, a little braver, a little bolder. May we, as disciples of Christ, strive to be more like him, and by consequence, we will be striving to be like Him as well. I can't wait to study this book more in-depth in the future. Well done H.B. Moore, Rebecca Connolly, and Jen Geigle Johnson. 5/5 stars
