"Everything's destiny is to change, to be transformed, to perish"
This took me a while to slowly digest. There are a lot of topics covered and it is cool to see the timelessness of the wisdom. Enjoyed it and I see myself holding onto this and taking a flip back through my dogeared pages.

Was recommended this book by a friend after discussing some of my outlooks on life. This book was a great insight to stoicism, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going back to it in future. It did get a little repetitive in some of the lessons, but this is to be expected give it isn't a formally written book but excepts from personal journals and letters. 4.5 stars.

Quite a slog despite its brevity. I’m hoping it was just a poor translation (Dover Thrift) but god I had a tough time getting into this one. Part of the problem is probably my increasing unwillingness to tolerate overly verbose or meandering prose, which is funny given that the editor’s preface lays out his mission to remedy such issues in his own translation. Marcus Aurelius (my father’s namesake) has some great ideas scattered throughout, but I think a lot of these concepts are more distilled, fleshed out, and captivating in other works. Just not for me, but I’m sure there’s more to appreciate under different circumstances.

My first book tbh so don't pay much attention to the rating. Had fun none the less.
