The main character has the “I’m not like other girls” personality, and never fails to let you forget it. The entire story and plot line follow how she is sooo different from alllll the other girls. It’s just an okay book, to me.

Really liked this book. It was gross and weird and dark and very fun to read. Like if Mean Girls was really dark and twisted. I do feel like the ending was lacking something—if not more explanations, perhaps it just needed MORE. Just felt kinda in line with the rest of the book and not necessarily the huge climax I was hoping for. If you like weird horror books, you’ll enjoy this one.

“Invested in her own outsiderness”

Where to even begin? This book was a beautiful, trippy discussion on reality and fiction, one that I did not expect to make me cry.

Part 3 was so much more than what I hoped it would be and it completely broke me.

I think this would have been so good for my younger self to have been able to read; the escapism in fiction and allowing yourself to stand out/not feeling forced to fit in are both topics that she really needed to hear.

If I say too much I fear I’ll give everything away and not stop talking, but to those wondering what it’s about, the best way to describe it is as a ‘drug-filled The Craft getting lost down the rabbit hole with Alice’.

Christian Slater is an active threat among lesbians.

I had been recommended this book many times for my interests in horror, especially surrounding the Heathers-esque clique that is the Bunnies. I did enjoy it a lot!

While it took me a bit to feel any sort of sympathy for Samantha, she eventually grew on me. Thankfully, the story does set up pretty much everyone to be insufferable so it felt easier to detach from liking her and more just enjoying where the story was headed. Of course, I’m also terrible at predicting plot twists (and now that I’ve finished this story, it was so obvious) but I was very moved by the novel’s denouement.

Ultimately, I would recommend this story to angry women. It is very reminiscent of the 2012 writer era as well, which I found incredibly entertaining.

I fully knew what was happening till the end but honestly I don’t care. I don’t think it’s really meant to have an ending that can be read one way.
I truly wish I had a definitive answer to whether Ava was real
what an acid trip tho. I think this book is a flat 4.60 but that’s not an option
