So I decided to read this book first in the series because I wanted to know Ali's perspective. It's a great book. It's full of suspense and thrillers and I have to admit that Sara Shepard has a talent for descriptions.

WARNING (SPOILERS):

The way she described how Ali was giving in to death in the hole was just terrible yet so amazingly described I actually wanted to read it. I still have a few questions for the person who helped "Courtney" ( the accomplis or something). Also the fact she said she knew who the person was and "heard it many times before" overall it's an awesome book to start off this series and I give it a 5/5. READ IT. Thanks

4.25/5 Wow, okay, this series is straight up like my modern day soap opera. Saying I’m obsessed is an understatement

I read this book before reading the rest of the series.. actually I tried to start book 1 first but couldn't get into it so I decided to try reading this one first. The premise of the story really drew me in to read the rest of the book.. to say what that is would probably be a spoiler but it is revealed early in the story and it's a good one! Even without knowing what happens in the other books it was a compelling and quick read. The things I didn't like about this book is that it's a bit young for me, I think younger readers would enjoy it more, and most of the characters seem very self-centered and unlikable, especially the main character Ali. They reminded me of the mean girls in school! But all the action and drama in the story keep the reader interested despite these limitations.

The book doesn't tell you everything new but watching it in Alison (Courtney)'s POV was very fun. She's such a well written character and I just couldn't put it down. Although it's not necessary to read, I do recommend to read it for a different perspective. 10/10, I wouldn't change anything

I might have liked this book if I’d read it at 15, but the characters are too petty and too stupid to actually care about. I liked this series back in high school, but I even back then I couldn’t imagine people actually acting like these characters.
